I seem to be my friends search engine lately lol!!

My two friends (husband and wife) are looking into getting a dog, either a golden retriever or a yellow labrador. But they want one from strong working lines that is also a really deep fox reddish colour.
Obviously they know all the work that it entails and the husband eventually wants to have a go at gundog training but the colour is very important to them aswell as health tests etc
husband wants a goldie and wife wants a lab...so its very likely they will end up going for a lab lol!
thanks

ps: If you are recommending individual breeders please PM me and do not post names

A Lab would be best then I would say.
If I wanted a Poodle, OES, TT or IWS I would have bought one. SWD's shd. be natural and rustic. No

Are the working Labradors darker when yellow? In Goldens, you will find that the working dogs are far, far darker than any show dogs, but I ave no idea if it is the same in Labardors.
Marianne. Dogs are not our whole lives, there are cats too!

I dont really know to be honest- they like the fox red colour- but i dont know whether that is associated with working lines

Yes - the darker yellow and fox red has always been common in working lines - it's only really in show lines that the pale yellows have been fashionable.
