I'm sorry Hilda - the oldies keep such a place in our hearts.   Run free, Sherrie!

Treat every stressful situation as a dog would. Pee on it and walk away

Thanks Margot - our Cody will miss her a lot - she has been his surrogate mum when he was a puppy, and his best friend for the past 7 years...he was always at her side at home.

So sorry for your loss of Sherrie, but how lovely to have had her in your life for so long. The oldies are so treasured aren't they.

I'm so sorry, Hilda. What a good age she reached. I'm sure she'll be sorely missed by all of you.

I'm so sorry. A wonderful age but that makes the loss  so much bigger as well as the gap left is so big.

Well, she didn't quite make it to 17, she was 16 1/2 - thanks to everyone for their kind messages - it really helps me feel a bit better - I know it was time for her to go, but you still can't help but miss them a lot, but then I know we were lucky to be able to have her with us for so long, she had a good life.
