I thought it appropriate to post a farewell message on here to Bertie the cat as I am sure he thought he was a dog.

Bertie was brought up with my SBT who we lost 3 years ago and I am going to reunite them both by placing him in my memorial sundial in the garden.

Bertie was around 16 years old and it is a miracle he lived so long considering his dodgy start.  He was found under a pile of wood in my sisters garden, I think he was the kitten of a feral cat and was pretty wild until we managed to tame him and earned his trust.  When he was two he was shot with a air rifle and lost one eye, but again he survived. 

The vets said you would tell me when you were ready to go and sure enough you did.  Like Fagin you died on a special day.  Every year when we celebrate my neice's birthday I will remember you.

So long Bertie, say hi to Fagin for us, and keep him in check just like you always did.

Teatime is not the same without you.
