By Merlot (****) [gb] Date 12.06.09 10:20 GMT
Today I had Treacles ashes home. Somehow it has made it all so final and I am having a sad day.
It got me thinking to all those I have lost before and who will be waiting at the bridge.
Treacle will have so many friends to run and play with:-
Candy, (Collie)
Amber (Lab)
Sam (lurcher)
Tzar, Tara, Woolfie, JJ, Jet, Zeta and Chico, Kaileigh, Storm and Blitz, Coral and Tara II, little Zippy, (all GSD's)
Jodie and Sheena (Bernese)
So many good friends over my 50 odd years, Heatbreaking to loose you all but how empty my life would have been without you. Each one of you has made an imprint on my heart and no other can ever quite fill the same mould, I loved you all in different ways.
Thanks for the golden memories see you all again one day.
Aileen XXX RIP my babies
I cannot live my life without my dogs by my side

Not going into all the pets i've owned but just the dogs that I have grown up with -

Leah - GSD and an asbsolute Star
Merlin - GSD the all black boy
Hollie - GSD taken too young
Ludo - Rottie the big boy
Chloe - Rottie the first dog in which I took on all the training when I was 14 - what a girl!
Zena - Rottie our sweet little girl

And we still have 7 monsters running round the house keeping us all busy.

I always think if we didn't ever lose the one's we loved so much we wouldn't necessarily have the one's we've got today - and we all know we wouldn't be without them either....I still joke the dogs we've lost have sent us the one's we have now to test us lol!
By Crespin (****) [ca] Date 12.06.09 12:06 GMT
Fudge - a rabbit (we actually taught him how to walk on a leash and play dead)
Whisper - Rabbit
Honey - Rabbit (MY first real pet that I owned - poor baby, I was so sad when she left at 11 months of age)
And Dear Sweet Joy - ESS - the one that is the hardest to let go.  I miss her every day, and would give almost anything to have her back.  May she be running free at the bridge, laying at Grandma's feet eating all the chips Grandma can give her.  Miss you Joy. </3
This is the last time I will allow you to take a breath from my lungs to fill your own.
By Pedlee (****) [gb] Date 12.06.09 12:07 GMT
Pippy, Willy (Westies), dogs we had when I was a child...and my Mum's Westie, Bubbles.
Pepsi (Goldie), my first dog after leaving home.
Heidi my first Dobe.
One Golden is never enough! One Dobermann is more than enough!

I sometimes wonder if I will be able to look after all my animals when I've died as there would be a lot. Maybe it won't be the same as on earth. :-) (The things you ponder......)

Goldens: Master, Jesper, Leo, Jenna, Elsa, Dandy.
Malinois: Rambo
Cavaliers: Casey, Scarlett.
Border Collie: Mollie

for me its Cassie (bullmastiff), Chad (my special boy bullmastiff), Corrie (frenchie/bully x and gremlin) and Odin (Mastiff) as well as the pups Bethany and Mr Blue that died from Kizzys litter and a lot of my aunt and uncles who i loved dearly.

Wow thats weird, they seem so few written down but are seem like so much more to me. I can't believe theres only 4 that i've actually owned... we're forever talking about how short lived big dogs are but thats four who covered about 22 years... Chad was 14 when he died!

Dollar, LH GSD, died of old age at 14
Brewster, half Saint Bernard half human (!), died of bone cancer at 9
Tragically, and most difficult to come to terms with, Rugby my beautiful Leo baby at just 15mths.  I still break my heart over him every day.

Every one of them treasured and sadly missed.

My only consolation is my Dad and brother now have the pleasure of their company!

Its never easy saying goodbye to any pet, regardless of age..
We've lost
Sam(Lab) - Too young to recall him properly
Neb(Lab) - He was my grandparents but loved him so much, great big goof of a dog
Toby(Lab) - Mr Serious
Bentley(Lab) - Easy going perfect boy.. Miss you heaps and wish you were back here now.. :-(  , wipes tears from eyes

Does it get harder as we get older to say goodbye??
