My 21 month old gsd yoda went to the bridge today, I dont think anybody on here knew that he was diagnosed with kidney failure just over 2 weeks ago. He was given a prognosis of 8 wks but went downhill rapidly and i decided the time had come to ensure that he went with dignity and still the same yoda we all knew and loved. He was still naughty and ate a bag of rabbitt food earlier on in the day!! He went with a smile on his face and a waggy tale, the typical yoda way.
He had such a short life but i'd like to think a happy one. My other girl is missing him terribly.

I admire you for letting him go with dignity and a waggy tail...i too made the same choice on my 13 month old and i know how very hard it is to lose a young baby...heartbreaking.

I'm so sorry for your loss, losing any dog is heart breaking but to loose a youngster is particularly tragic.  You were incredibly brave, and I'm sure he'd thank you for it.  My thoughts are with you and your girl xxx

This is really sad such a young dog, he went beloved though not all dogs have had that love.

So very very sorry to hear that you have lost Yoda. Just a baby - so sad, so heartbreaking for you. Bless you for allowing him his dignity and not reaching a point where he would start to feel the unpleasant effects. A heroic decision nonetheless.
