I'm looking for a golden retriever pup as I lost my 15yr old in March. I know what I'm looking for but finding it is another matter. Ideally I want a pup who has Tallygold Telegram Sam in the pedigree and I would prefer a darker colour. I'm afraid these light coloured dogs are not for me, I want a golden retriever. The breeder I was hoping to get a pup from has decided against breeding her bitch as the other people wanting a pup have pulled out thanks to the credit crunch so I'm having to start again.

I've checked the Golden database and  Tallygold Telegram Sam sired 73 puppies. Out of those 73, only 5 were bred from: Pinewell Fhionnlaidh who had  2 puppies but has NOT had any grandpuppies, Langeller Ethel who also had 2 puppies and no grandpups. That leaves Langeller Edwin who sired 4 pups and who has 9 grandpups -out of those 9 the only one that has been bred from is Shores of Loch Fyne. Finally  Barlyna Amber had 25 pups and 28 grandpups, but NONE of the grandpups have been bred from and Bickneller Kestrel had 6 pups and 47 grandpups -one of which has been bred from, Kenmilltri Whole Black. So it seems there are very few descendants of this dog about and those there are tend to have names without a kennel name -so presumably pet bred, so not sure if there are any breeders with these dogs in the line, but maybe Google the names?

Is the Tallygold owner still breeding? I can't find a website for them, but not all breeders have websites! If there are no descendents from that particular dog they might know of something very similar.

The owner of Barlyna Amber is the Lady who I was hoping to get a pup from but decided not to breed this year. I know I'm looking for a needle in a haystack but thought it was worth a try before I give up and go for a different line. Tallygold Telegram Sam was sire to my old dog and he was a superb dog so I wanted to keep to the same line.

The Tallygold breeders stopped several years ago unfortunately.

I am going to look at some puppies on Sunday 26th July. They have the right background and are dark, how lucky is that? Hopefully choosing one to collect end of August beginning of September. Found them through this fantastic site too.
