Hi
My spayed EBT, nearly 4, sometimes has a little drip of wee from her 'penny' (techincal term!) I noticed it drip when she was laying in the garden & there was a tiny wet patch on the patio & also staining on the settee where see had slept without her blanket.  Today there was a very little puddle on the window seat where she sits. It doesn't happen all the time. She doesn't drink excessively & doesn't wee that often in the garden. Molly's fit, healthy & eats well.
Any ideas gratefully received.

Oh dear, time to go to the vet to get some medication...usually Propalin.

A rather common problem in spayed bitches I'm afraid, but Propalin helps in a large proportion of cases.

Thanks...do you think she needs to go now, although it's not an everyday thing?

As long as she's still bright and well, not distressed, drinking excessively or lethargic and - as long as you can deal with the little 'leaks' there is no rush.
It just wont get better on its own.

Thank you again....I'll keep  close eye on on Molly. I did see some herbal alternatives to the tablets, perhaps I'll look more into that too

Is your girl nice and trim? If she is a little bit overweight, this could make it worse. And if you get into the habit of regularly taking her out for a wee so her bladder doesn't get so full, this can help.

Yes, Molly is very trim. She was weighed at the vet about 4 weeks ago & is a nice 26kg. She spends most of her time in the garden & in this weather the door is always open, so she pops out when she wants to.It's only the past few months that I've noticed this. Molly was spayed 2 years ago this coming October.

As i read this..my bitch molly has just done the self same thing, she was spayed 2yrs ago and does this occasonally as well.
It seems to happen if her bladder is fuller than normal....and she is asleep and then moves to get up.
One Golden is never enough.

It happens to my Molly when she's mostly laying down or asleep. Molly will occasionally wake me in the night for a wee, but most times sleeps right through. She's always had good bladder control, perhaps too good & held too much!  Are you going to put your Molly on tablets yet?

I Have a 7 years old girl who was spayed at 4 she developed incontinince associated with being spayed for almost the last 3 years she has been on  propalin wich worked very well but i didnt want her on a drug fort he rest of her life if i could find something else.
2 weeks ago i changed her to Raspberry leaf tablets from Dorwest Herbs and she hasnt wet herself since.
Maybe worth a try before going down the drug route,
This is my experience with this problem,
1,2,3 samoyeds is never enough

No not at the moment as she is on other meds for HD...and does not do this often.
But as you say our molly will hold herself for long periods...and i make her go out for a wee now often  as poss.
One Golden is never enough.

Dorwest also suggest Mixed Vegetable tablets.

'It's mildly diuretic effects helps to ensure and maintain normal urinary flow and by regulating the acid/alkali balance it is helpful for cystitis and the incontinence problems that may occur with age.'

Perhaps they both work well

My 5 year old spade bitch, has just started to leak a little, though today i was sat on the floor with her stoking her, when she moved i noticed a big puddle of urine.
SO will also pop her to the vets.

my male neutered ess has spinal spondylosis but the area affected is very close to the nerves for the bladder so he started to leak urine when he was asleep - he is now on a tiny dose of propalin and its worked wonders!
