Hi there gave my dog a bath yesterday, all fine walk last night then at bedtime a bit of wimpering could see his tail not right same this morning  but no discomfort when chasing the bunnies tail up then, but it is still down he doesn't seem bothered, I have heard of this happening following a bath or swimming shall I give it a couple of days to see what happens have given him some metacam...he could win a show today as all his write up's have been  "a bit proud of his tail"..

Poor Stanley, I hope you have not been bullying him or I shall be up to see you??
See what it's like in the morning. Are you sure he hasn't knocked it on anything? Not got trapped anywhere?
Give him a big cuddle from the girlies and Me.

One of my dogs often ends up with a floppy tail if she's been in water for a while. It generally takes a few days to get back to normal. As long as you're sure there's been no trauma to his tail area then I'd just wait for it to return to normal.

Pretty sure no trauma, but when he just went to stand on his hind legs  a bit of a wimper,but when he wants to get on the setee no wimpering then  and as I said when he was chasing bunnies this morning no sign of limp tail but it doesn't take much for Stanley to wimper it's the way I have brought him up, made him ALL MAN !!! will see how it goes but not an emergency I dont think..

A friend of mine 'broke' her bully's tail when she put her in the car.  Every now and then it goes limp for a few days and looks like it has a kink in it.  the vet gave her anti-inflamatories but it seems to resolve itself.

I've had this with one of mine before. It's known as Cold Water tail, and it only lasts a few days when the tail will return to normal. If I remember rightly my boy took 4 days to get back to normal. I bet if you google Cold Water tail there will be quite a bit to read.

I have heard of something called a 'dead tail' that can come on after being in water for a long time, from what I remember it should improve as suddenly as it came.

I certainly wouldn't be giving him metacam for something you don't know what you are treating, if it is no better tomorrow then a visit to the vet would be a good idea.

Good Morning all, back from our very early morning walk, think is going to be a scorcher today and am pleased to advise we are back to 80% full function. Must admit I love his tail happy and not how it is supposed to be! it seems to express just how he is feeling cause to me he looked sad with it down.
