I took my GR to the vet today to arrange her opp for HD. On giving her an examine the vet said she had a large lump inside the hip, where the HD is. He couldnt tell what it was but said he didnt like the look of it as it was on the main artery on her leg but nothing to do with HD.
He wants her in on tues next week for more xrays and to take a biopsy to find out what it is.
Got to wait now and see if its anything else to worry about with our molly who is only 3. Bless her heart....she is such a good girl.
One Golden is never enough.

sending possitive vibes your way.
Hopefully it wont be anything too bad and she will be fine.

No good telling you not to worry, but everything crossed that Tuesday's biopsy shows something silly and benign.   {{ HUGS }}

How did it go today, any news.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
By goldie (***) [gb] Date 07.07.09 19:06 GMT
Hi to all
Well molly had her xrays today and im afraid its not good at all. She has HD but it has nothing to do with the what showed on the xrays.
The xrays told us that she has mass tumours in her hind leg and her chest area...they have taken a biopsy and sent that away for testing to see how aggresive the tumour is.
The vet was not to hopeful and said it was very large and on the artery,so would not be a very good option to operate.
She has also lost 7kg since march, and i was trying to get weight off her for the HD opp,but didnt expect it to go this way.
We are as a family gutted by whats happened to molly at just 3yrs old...HD and now this.
We will wait for the results and take it from there.
She is very happy in her self and waiting for her tea tonight as usual.....still a bit woozy from the xrays.
Thanks you all for caring.
One Golden is never enough.

Thankyou all for your kind words.
Mollys not to bad today, maybe a little distressed by what she went through yesterday, small incision in her tummy for the biopsy.
We will wait till friday and see the nature of the tumor.
My vet has suggested cemo but we dont think we will go down that route, have to talk to the vet first.

We went through this 3yrs ago with our other GR and she sadly died age 9....never thought it would happen again.
Thanks again
Love molly.

By goldie (***) [gb] Date 14.07.09 08:36 GMT
Well we have had the results back for molly.

Im afraid it was very bad, thats all im going to say as to not upset you all.
I dont know how i feel, just numb at the momment. They cant do anything to help as its gone to far.
We just have to take each day as it comes now.
We are so shocked this has happened so quickly in the matter of days of finding out she had a problem of this type.
We are going to enjoy what precious time we have left with molly.
Our other GR emma will miss her terrible as they are so close and love each other dearly.
One Golden is never enough.

My heart goes out to you.  We lost a young Goldie last year and I haven't been able to talk about it on the board before.  It seems much worse when the dog is so young.
Just enjoy what time you have left together and be strong.  I hope you get enormous support from your vet enabling you to decide when is the right time to say your farewells.  We knew when the time was right and I do get a certain comfort from knowing we did what was best for her before she began to suffer.
Her memories will live on and she'll be at peace - its just is who continue to suffer.
Writing this with tears in my eyes....
By goldie (***) [gb] Date 14.07.09 09:12 GMT
Thankyou so much Ells-Bells for your lovely post.
Im so sorry about your young goldie, thats what makes it so hard to bear them being so young.
I will do whats right when that time comes for molly so she need not suffer.
Now i have more tears as well.
One Golden is never enough.

I am so sorry about your awful news. To lose a one is so difficult but to lose a young one and with such problems is just horrendous.
I know you will give Molly all your attention and love that she has enjoyed from being a baby. Know that my thoughts are with you all.

Have only just read your thread & I was hoping for a happy ending, am so so sorry you are having to go through this.  Poor poor Molly, so tragic at such a young age.

Sounds like you've got plenty of support around you, which I hope makes this difficult time a bit easier.

My thoughts are with you, your family & poor little Molly at this time.  I have a choc lab called Molly & can't imagine life without her, so sorry again.

So sorry it wasn't better news, poor Molly. We lost our first Bernese to cancer at 4, we were devastated, so I can understand how you must feel. We didn't get any time to prepare for him going, so make the most of the time you have with her now. Thinking of you
