How come I can go into the fridge 100 times a day for milk, butter, tomatoes etc.. and not a dog in sight...but as soon as I touch the cheese, Merlot comes sauntering in from wherever she was crashed out fast asleep and plonk herself down at my feet waiting for a bit of cheese??? She never lets me down, I can take out plastic bags with anything else in and not a sniff of a dog but touch the cheese bag and she appears as if by magic! The others don't do it..but will somehow realize she has come in so often follow her after a little while, but she is 100% reliable to arrive!! Clever girl or what?

i have the same with my dogs, they just love cheese.
i've probably made a rod for my own back as i use cheese for training them, especially my youngest.she can smell it a mile away.
nothing else works so well for training them, they just can't resist it. doesn't seem to matter what type, think the smell drives them crazy.

My Tinker is a cheese freak too!  Doesn't matter where she is, what she's doing she'll be there as soon as the cheese comes out.  She's the same with roast chicken and pizza.  Heidi, likes the cheese but loves to lick the kitchen floor when I've made bacon and eggs [fat spatters - sloppy cook that I am] she also loves carrots - she follows me around like a little lap dog when I'm feeding the rabbits.  Last week she 'nicked' a carrot out of the tub I'd put on the ground whilst getting the rabbit food out - she sneaked up and took it like a silent assasin.  She' usually really good and I can leave my plate around without her touching it - she must think the rabbits' stuff is fair game.

Ah we to know the feeling, Bo also has a cheese radar, and cleverly taught this to Fudge.
Mind you it does come in as a handy bribe ;-) lol

Come to think of it - Heidi loved to slurp my wine of an evening when she was a puppy - I hope just then anyway!!!

Cheese fiend, good though I delivered two worming tablets for two dogs in two seconds in cheese throw up, snap and swallow!!!!!!!!
By JAY15 (***) [gb] Date 17.07.09 00:57 GMT
Great idea for worming, I loathe cheese and refuse to have it in the house but dogs adore my best friend who treats them to lumps with her dog when they go out on walks together. She has now become known as "Our Lady of the Cheese," although I don't think she is very keen on the honorary title.
OK, so the cream carpets were a bad idea

I find cheese a little difficult to hide pills in so have perfected the art of pate bombs! they work really well and are smelly enough (If you get garlic pate) to hide the worst pills in. Con's my lot any day!!
