Holly 2/10/1998 - 6/7/09 (Mowgli Meia)

This is the first post I've put on here but felt like I needed to express how I feel to people that understand.

On Wednesday 8th July my darling Boxer Holly lay in my arms at home and passed away from a heart attack. She seemed to sense it was her time and you could see it in her eyes. We didn't have time to get to the vets as it all happened so quickly.

I'm absolutely devastated - only 2 weeks ago we were on holiday playing in the sea and she was trying to pull the limpets off the rocks in the rock pools. We were told when we returned she had bronchitis but the diagnosis was then given that she had a weak heart. She was 10 and I thought (hoped really) she'd go on for ever.

I miss her so much........ Her little sister Ruby (aged 3) seems to be coping ok but it's hard to tell. I'm trying really hard to make sure she is happy and gets loads of attention....

Run free at the bridge my darling - Disney will be there waiting for you. I love you xxxx

A letter from your pet in heaven
Author Unknown

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."

God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there were some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.

God says: "If you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind."

"And when it's time for you to go...
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...
you're coming here to me."

I've learned...that life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster

Sorry to hear of your loss. It is so hard when our babies pass. Be strong for your other dog. Mine passed a year ago and I think about her every day. I will always love her as I am sure you love yours. They are always in our hearts.

Awww massive hugs I lost my eldest veteran Boxer girl 9th June 2009 she was just 11 years and 5 days old.
I still have tears now, hardest day this month was when her daughter Abby had her 8th birthday on 9th July.
I remember Misty whelping Abby and her siblings like it was yesterday.

I'm grateful that I have my Boxer girls to take my mind off losing my 'Moo-Moo'
Still miss her like crazy, especially the loud Boxer snores and the exciteable dance when it was breakfast and dinner time.
The cuddles on the sofa.

Know how you are feeling

Thank you all so much - your words are so comforting....

It's been a week today and I still expect her to come bounding through the door with a toy in her mouth when I get home from work.

Hopefully we'll get her ashes back soon so we can scatter them where we also scattered Disneys - overlooking the fields and valley she loved so much. We planted a tree there when we lost Disney so we'll scatter them round there too.

Ruby seems to be doing well - I'm sure she thinks I'm unbalanced when I'm crying and go to her for a hug..... never seen a dog move so quickly!!!! She's a little quiet in the park - Holly always seemed to be Rubys 'confidence' so I'm trying to build that up now but I know it's still early days.

Thank you all again......xx
