A cry for help from you CDers.
Chablis is 6 months in 2 weeks and is a great puppy...however she is a terrible bully to her Mum. She grabs her by the cheek and drags her about shaking and growling. Merlot just puts up with it and is far too lenient with her, she never tells her off and puts up with all kinds of nonsence. Granny Pepsi will only take so much then she tells Chablis off, and she has learnt, also my friends JRT will not take it so she knows not to pester her..for fear of a snap!! She is fine with strange dogs and is not agressive with her  Mum it's just play...but overly enthusiastic!! Poor Merlot looks fed up and seems incapable of laying down the law. I stop her whenever I can but she does not seem to learn, better in my mind if her Mum told her off. I am just a little concerned that one day Merl will retaliate and if she leaves it too long then Chablis may be too big to take notice and the last thing I want is agression between them.
Any ideas?

Poor Merlot,My Inga used to be a bit like this with her mother but by about nine months had settled never any aggresion just wanted to play all the time.
I think Merlot will know when to lay down the law or perhaps she may just leave it to Pepsi , Im sorry not to be of any more help Aileen but if it becomes a real problem I don,t mind taking Pepsi or the beeeeeeeeautiful Merlot of your hands for you (not that you would let me of course but don,t ever say I never offered)

But you can have the Gremlin if you like he he he!!! I'ts nice and clean..I've just given it a bath Whewww !!! I think I am wetter than she is...but on the plus side she quite likes the blaster.
Merlot is coping at the moment but I was just wondering if anyone had had the same problems with Mum and devil child?

I do! I hope someone comes along with some good advice as I am in exactly the same position with my poodle pup. He annoys everyone (in a nice way though ) but when the bernese get sick of him they give a a quick row and he lies on his back with his legs in the air, the same applies when my ancient poodle gets annoyed with him he is very submissive but with his mum he just constantly pulls and tugs and annoys her, she plays with him for a while and then you think she is finally going to give him the row he deserves then she gives up as if she just cant be bothered and like you I don't want to keep doing it for her.

It's nice to know someone else is having the same problem..Merlot is just too good to her!! Merl caught a rabbit this morning on our walk and after a few mouthfulls just gave it up without a fight to the devil child!! Who scoffed the lot ....

It won't last long   My two were mummy's boys (she couldn't be bothered with her girls so they were daddy's girls), they stopped getting away with murder when they hit maturity.

We have a similar situation in our house at the moment.

Ruby our 16 month Irish Setter (who might I add was a little bugger and has only just calmed down!) is being terrorised by new addition Geoffrey, our 10 week old Irish Setter.

Geoffrey did try it on with Dougie the Border when he arrived but Dougie gave him what for (no physical aggression, just a "telling off"), and even though he and Geoffrey play, he knows the boundaries!

Ruby, on he other hand is a different matter, Geoffrey was trying to pull her round with her leg this morning! Sometimes she grumbles but most of the time he nags and nags at her until she just gives up and plays with him, again, no aggression here, he loves her to bits, but I do feel for Ruby sometimes.

Its difficult because I do step in when I see it happen, but I feel that really Ruby needs to deal with this and Geoff won't listen to me anyway!

I joke to Ruby that this is her come-uppance as she was exactly the same with Dougie when we had her at 10 weeks!

Hope your month is getting better from when i saw you at Windsor.

I have a 3 yrs old whos Mum lets her do whatever she like to her , she pinches toys ,nicks her seat ,  pulls her ears will even jump up on top of her when she is lying on the sofa and generally gets away with anything and everything . Whereas my other girl not related (4 & half )  looks upon Mum as the alfa bitch and follows her around and if she steps out of line will be told off.

We keep wondering when she will grow up !!!!

Our first bernese got pestered all the time by Dakko (the Lapphund), he would suffer it for so long without a grumble then he would just sit on Dakko. It was so funny to see him as he would literally hold him down, no growling or barking, but I daresay 10 stone of bernese sitting on you would be enough to put any one off . Our current bernese is a bit pathetic, she will often bark at bedtime to tell us to move Treacle off her bed
