What type of springer are you after? There are
Welsh Springers and English Springers, and within the English Springers there are two very different types; the
working type which is very active and demanding, and the
show type, which although still active tends to be slightly more suited to a pet life.

oh sorry yes english springer and yes i think show would prob be better suited even tho i will be doing fly ball but just no hunting, as have a parrot so dont want no accidents to happen. and also live right next to the beach so lots of swimming, but not really sure which type would be better for this? and also just as family pet.

Thanks for the link not seen that one befour very useful
Cheers Louise

where do you live, i had a springer, working type and he was a really good pet, as long as you walk them enough. he was fine with the rabbit and him uesd to sleep in the bed together. you need to do a temperment test on teh litter to pick out teh best pup. when you look at teh litter its the pup that thinks about sayning hello and then goes to you, teh one that runs up should be ignored and teh one that sits in teh back also. you can get in contact with breeders though teh kennel club and also contact any breed clubs english springers are great first dogs, i cant see myself ever getting a dog as good as him, but i have only had my Kooikerhondje for a year so.....
