I have massively over-ordered frozen blocks of raw green tripe, quite a bit of which is now slowly de-frosting in a fridge!!
Does anyone have any idea:

1. How long will it last and how to tell if it's gone off?? ( it stinks anyway!!)
2. How to dispose of it if/when it has?? don't really feel I can put it in the wheelie bin?!

Any advice would be gratefully received!!
Thanks

You could always cook it and then re-freeze...!!! Yuck it stinks though when you cook it!!
Otherwise what about a rescue kennels nearby? they may be able to use it up tomorrow.

Where are you based as I have room for some if you are near :-)

Give us your location and maybe some champdoggers can 'rehome' it for you - and fear not most people feeding tripe or feeding raw meat have done this in the past. You do only tend to do it once lol!

I need some tripe, if you are nearby that would help me a lot and i would pay for it obviously. I'm rather hoping you are near me.

Thanks everyone for suggestions; rung around some rescues this morning and one place is willing to collect it all.

Otherwise it would definitely been free to any champdogger willing to put 15kgs of half defrosted tripe in their car; they would most definately be quite welcome to it!!

Lesson learned  now (I hope!)

Thanks again for taking the time to respond
