our puppy boxer of 8 weeks has developed a upset stomach (I know that all the upset of new home etc can have a effect on a pup she is our 6th boxer) when she goes to the loo it started last night to come out quite watery this morning it was like a cow pat,she seems well in herself still playing causing trouble etc.,she is being fed Arden Grange with some puppy Nature Diet mixed in on Wednesday she had her first jab could this be anything to do with it,she is going to the vet this morning for a check up, being the worried parent! any thoughts on this would be gratefully received.debby

try not to worry too mch at the moment.Squiffy tums are so common in pups,i would only be concerned if it was prolonged or if she was not acting her normal self.Could be the jab,i've heard of that reaction before,or could be change of water,eaten some dirt in garden,stress.
I have come down today to my 14 week old latest addition and he has cow pat poos,i'm putting that down to too much raw meat used as a training aid.
You could try some live natural yoghurt to balance gut bacteria or aloe vera juice is great for an inflamed bowel,but if you are going to vet anyhow maybe wait til after,see what he advises.Hope she is better soon.

check out with the vets first for advice but as said before pups quite often have funny tummy's. i always feed my dogs rice and chicken when this happens, just for a couple of days and it always seems to sort things out as it's very bland and easily digested. what ever you do don't starve the pup as their not like adult dogs and need to eat on a regular basis.

Have some Prokolin at home for such problems.
Puppies eat the most disgusting things, react to vaccinations occasionally and can be affected by tap water etc.
A dose of Prokolin - a probiotic -is often enough to settle their tummy.
Together with the other excellent advice given here, this should sort it. ..........assuming, of course, that you got your puppy from a reputable breeder that reared the puppy well and insured that it had no worm burden.
If in any doubt ask your vet.

hi all. Betty has been to the vets her temp. and hydration were all ok as you cant be to careful as you all know with pups.The vet seems to think her having Nature Diet and Arden Grange is too rich for her as he said they are both complete foods.He sugested giving her today boiled rice taked to the almost collapsing stage (just al little today) and a tiny sprinkling of AG.then gradually increase if she is ok and give her some Diarsanyl (Toolz is the same as Prokolin?)i will have to order Prokolin for the future.thanks all for the advice debby

Very similar stuff I believe.Lets hope it dries up the little botty soon they're difficult to housetrain when they feel such urgency.
