Hi All,

First off I am based in New Zealand. I know many breeders wont export this far, or at all. So I will need to find a breeder who is willing to export. But I will be in the UK as of April 2010 for between 6-12months, so am able to meet with breeders which may help as they will get a chance to meet me, and me them ect.

I have been competing in agility (as well as obedience, working trials and have dabbled in herding) for many years now, and am in the process of trying to find my next dog. Unfortunately there is nothing that has caught my eye in NZ or Australia- as most KC Registered Border Collies are more 'Show' bred dogs. And thought that while I am in the UK I might have a look around over there.

My current Border Collie is highly driven, passionate and enthusiastic about her work, and these are the qualities that I would like in my next dog.

Are there any breeders in the UK that breed working or performance Border Collies that have gained titles in Agility(or WT/obedience)?  I have looked at the Astra dogs, but am unsure about them, does anyone have any experience with these dogs?

Many thanks for your help, I know I might be pushing my luck at finding someone who is willing to let me bring a pup all the way to New Zealand.

Lots of Border Collie breeders sent puppies abroad, not just show breeders but ISDS breeders(the breeder of my eldest BC has sent at least one to Australia).

There are lots of Astra dogs doing agility & obedience.

You would be better going direct to the breeders rather than asking on forums where opinions can be somewhat biased for/again certain breeders
