Does anyone know of a breeder of these lovely little dogs?

Would think it would be hard just for the standard size, don't know how many of the small ones there are in the UK but don't think that there are many.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs

Unfortunately this breed hasn't taken off in the UK. I think that the last litter was born in 2006 and the breeder subsequently went to live abroad.

The Large Munsterlander and the German Longhaired Pointers have both taken off, the GLP only recently in comparison. The LM, though mainly black/white, can produce brown and tri colours, though they aren't registered on the breed list.
Life is not a bed of roses but a comedy of errors

thanks i will pass on the information to my friends.  they meet the breed while abroad on holiday and asked if i knew of the breed.  i could only tell them about the large munsterlander, but they where smitten by the smaller one, thanks anyway.

lindylou is right, i once found the website but it has been closed.
i have a feeling that i saw some at discover dogs once.
its not on highampress as a rare breed. but it is still on the KC website.

if you call the phone the KC they will tell you of a breeder.

As has already been said, there is no one breeding this breed currently in the UK, although there are about 30 or so individuals lurking up and down the country. If your friend wanted one she would need to import.

They are a lovely breed to live with, but they do need to be worked to be kept happy.

If your friend is after a breed of similar mentality and drive to the sm, perhaps try the slightly smaller Brittany...larger, perhaps the German Longhaired pointer.  Spaniels, while similar in size and looks have a different mentality and way of working.

The only booth we have had as a breed Stamboom was at Broadlands in 2006. We have done HPR parades at various gamefairs between 2004 and 2008. My SM was at Discover Dogs for the companion show thing a few years back though.
