Although I never met you,
Your story touched my heart
So young, and lonely, so very sad
You didn't have the start in life
a boy like you should have

But then the rescue found you
and took you in their care
They gave you love and shelter
You felt the warmth and safety of being there

Your time on earth was very short
you had to leave so soon 
Your illness took it's toll  on you

We looked into your big brown eyes

Harvey, you were a special gentle boy

Harvey - May your heaven be everything your life on earth sadly wasn't. Run free, like the wind alert and fleet of foot, and live in love at the bridge. Dawn will be there one day, and I know she will come for you.

Just in case no one realised, this tribute is in respect of Harvey, the mastiff pup who was given in to our rescue centre. The same Harvey who was listed under 'Shine on Harvey', and which was subsequently locked. Having queried the reason for locking with admin, it was apparently due to us criticising the original owners! Perpetrators protected, victims victimised, more and more the way in society today sadly.

Perry pm'd me to find out why it had been locked, and asked if she instead could post this tribute. I would ask anyone who had originally posted to repost without reference to the 'owner'. I feel that Harvey had little enough love in the short time he was here, and I feel he is losing out yet again even though he is no longer here, by people being prevented from posting on his original tribute thread. I would like him to be remembered here.

A breed that has stolen my heart....... I can't bear to think of poor Harvey in kennels I'm so glad he had somebody to love him in the end.

Such a cruel twist of fate that the end of his life was so soon after finding somebody to love him......

Rest in peace Harvey and do what Mastiffs do best, sit quietly, amongst the stars, watching over those that truly loved you.
