I've had my male Rottie hip scored under sedation by the people who own the Newfie's (really can't remember their names now) but it was a fair way to travel.

I need to get my bitch scored in the next month or 2 and someone on here told me about a vets in Dorchester who x-ray under sedation - can anyone help with names or numbers for this vet please???

Hi,can't help with the dorchester vets.I use a woman in Eastleigh,Southampton who uses sedation but this may be the woman you've already used before.Don't know how far that is from you,it's 3 hours from us but i wouldn't use anyone else.

Yes that is the woman I went to with one of my dogs, but was looking for something a little closer to home.

You mean Marylin Baker she is very good, did my aussie score was 3-2 and I have always said it effect the score if they do not get the positioning right, you have no worries with when you go to her.

on this subject, could someone tell me roughly the cost of hip scoring by the lady near southampton? I have used her before but that was about 4 years ago and cant remember the price!

BVA charge for hips is £40.00
BVA charge for elbows is £40.00
BVA charge for hips and elbows is £75.00
x-ray charges are as follows...Hips £50.00, Elbows £60.00.

So you need to pay either for hip x ray and BVA charge or hip and elbow x-ray and BVA charge.

I used Verity Griffiths (Southfield Veterinary Centre) in Dorchester for a hip score last year - I'd heard good things about her and was not disappointed. 

Preston, Moys Farm Vet surgery if you google it. Good reputation

I use Hampton Heath Vets near Malpas, Cheshire. Ewan Bryson is brilliant.
