I wondered if anyone had any experience of a supplement called Help 2 Whelp ? It is supposed to help the bitch have smoother contractions and reduce the chances of a protracted labour. It seems to be mainly calcium based which I had always thought shouldn't be given prior to whelping ?

If its calcium based I'd rather just stick to a balanced diet and regular exercise. Probably far more proven to help whelping than a suppliment (no offence ment!)

However if someone has used this with great effect then fair enough :-D

No offense taken ! It's sold by Fit and Fertile who I generally think have good products but I have always understood that calcium was best not added before whelping. Just wondered if anyone had tried it ?

Not meant to be an advert West Coast. I don't even know if it's any good, that's why I wanted to find out if anyone had tried it. I see lots of posts referring to brand named dog products, are we not allowed to mention company names ? I will know in future.

Not referring to you JaybyJasper, but to Mr Fit'n'Fertile. :-)

They also have a product called Puppy Saver. I always have Dopram V on hand and have been fortunate to have never needed to use them. I wondered if anyone had used the Puppy Saver ? My girl has 8 days to go and I am at the stage of triple checking my lists and wondering if there is anything else I should have thought of although I am sure there isn't !!!

Looking at the 'Puppy Saver' it would be more comparible to using Nutri drops or made up puppy colostrum.

Dopram V is used to stimulate breathing.
