A very special girl who came into my life over 5 years ago.. many of you will remember Rosie as one of the 3 'CD rescue Labs' 

Rosie was diagnosed with Leukemia, and enlarged spleen... Blood count was 8, where normal count should be around 40.. The decision was made to help Rosie to the Bridge

I said goodbye to Rosie at 7.15 this evening..

Just a few months ago.. Rosie climbed Snowdon, .. 5 years ago Rosie could not walk, her 4inch nails had curled round and penetrated her pads, one pad had completely healed over with the nail growing up through it.. She was crated 23hrs per day.. only getting out for toiletting, and had never seen the outside world.. and had been used as a breeding machine, had her 1st litter at a year old.. (I also brought Rosie's 2 year old daughter home with me (and another Lab) )  After months of rehabilitation, I found a wonderful family for her, or should I say, they found me.. I tried hard to put them off, telling them of Rosies worst points, and her hard life could make for unknown behaviour.. They visited Rosie a few times.. and I finally allowed Rosie to go..

I Have had Rosie back for occassional long weekends and 2 week summer holidays every year since then, as one of the conditions, was that Rosie was never to be kennelled or shut away anywhere, and has always had a place her and in my heart..

Rosie was pretty famous on CD 5years ago during all this trauma and rescue, and unwittingly touched many hearts along her journey..

Her family gave her 5 of the most wonderful years of her life, and Rosie was a true and loyal companion right to the end,

When Rosie saw me this evening, her tail wagged, I bent over to hug her, she lifted her head, and licked my face.. I think that was a 'thank you'

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again,

And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there were some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.

I havent heard this story it has touched my heart Bless you and I hope Rosie is running freely at Rainbow Bridge after having 5 years of human love at last.

I didn't know you, but such a sad start to your life. Then you found some angels in this world who found you love and a wonderful life for 5years. God bless all who had a hand in this, be proud. (I'm sure Rosie did say thank you).
