Could somebody send me the phone number for Marilyn in Southampton who does the hip scoring? The number i have just keeps ringing or is just engaged...just want to check I have the right number....

Sounds about right. They should leave a recorded msg on the voicemail if not picking up telling you when to call back to book appointments. If you have this then you have the right number. If engaged then keep trying, you'll get through..

sorry to hijack... but I keep hearing about this lady, so reckon I'll use her eventually.  Any idea how booked up they get?  Presumably it's extremely busy if the phone is constantly engaged!!! Wondering how far in advance I will need to book!

When ever you call up and they leave a msg telling you to call back on set days and between certain times to book people in. Last year i waited a month i think, i'm sure they do the x-ray days twice a month and get through about 50 dogs a day. If engaged just keep trying and you will get through and they give you a time and day to turn up which normally is along with 3-4 other dogs as well. Once sedated my x-rays only took about 5 mins to do, i was in and out i reckon in about 30 mins.

haha.. that's ok then.  Mr. Pupster is only 6 months old, I just envisaged having to book a year in advance!!  Thanks for the info

I have been trying on and off for 2 weeks now and it either just rings and then you get a bt message saying 'please try later' or it's engaged. I have done ring back on the number when engaged and rang straight back, only for it just to just ring again argggggh it's getting really annoying now!!!

I think it might be quicker if i write to her!!!!

Keystone do you not get a recorded msg telling you when to call back. If not then maybe you might not have the correct number?

Ay the moment the wait is about 6-8 weeks, i booked up 5 weeks ago and we off down there next weekend, i like it was done so far in advance as i left entering a show that day because we had it booked.

they are really good down there i took my big boy 2 years ago there to have his done, i was allowed to look at the x-ray, and told it would be a good score and she was right and i like the idea you can stay with your dog the whole time.

I won't go anywhere else now.  My vet who knows the vet that checks the dogs out & sedates them down there, said that Marilyn probably sees 20% of the dogs for hip/elbow x-rays in the country!  Although he said he didn't feel it was good practice for the owner to hold the dog (personally that's the bit I like about it, apart from how knowledgeable the lady is!!!)

I had the same problem getting hold of her this year, there was no message it was just hit & miss.
