My young girl has just had a silent season, she is not kenneled and lives with her dad (intact) so we know she has had a silent season because i had to seperate them as dad started to bother her (it was about the right time for her season anyway) this was her 2nd she had her first just before she turned 10 months and all was normal with that one.
Ive been in touch with the breeder of her mum and was told her nan and aunt were also known for it. Now as i have never incountered silent season before im not sure if the way i am thinking is right, is it possible she could have a normal season next time around? Ive also been told to watch her very closley as the risk of her developing a pyo is greater after a dry season, has anyone else found this to be true?

I don't have experience of pyo after, but definitely had a silent season with a Yorkie girl.   She had a normal season afterwards, and had a litter in May this year.

Unfortunately she needed a C-section and I had her spayed when pups were 12 weeks old.
The hurrier I go - the behinder I get!

Had a couple of Pom's in the past with silent seasons now and again and they never had pyo's and lived into their mid teens.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs
