Hi i would leave well alone untill the vet has looked at it. you may accidently scratch or infect the eye.
if the cherry eye is not irritating the dog and is leaving it alone they may want to leave alone until the dog is older and shape of the skull and eye is grown into a more mature shape.
there are options such as popping back in and suturing then removal of suture and hope that it stays, some do some dont, or removal of the prolapsed duct which sometimes leads to dry eye.
personally i would leave well alone until older and then try putting back in and hope it stays before removal. but really i would wait until the vet has a look and see what they say.
