My 8 week old puppy has had his 1st vaccination today. Since the injection which was at 2:00pm this afternoon he has been quiet and subdued, he ate his food this evening but just wants to sleep. Is this normal?

Yes, we always advise owners that their puppy is likely to be sleepier than usual that evening, but will probably be back to normal the next day. Also a lump at the injection site is also normal - gentle rubbing will help prevent it, but it will go down of its own accord.
