Hi all im new to the forum but am after some advice, i have a nearly 9 year old irish setter who although is a little chubby but not overly but the main problem i am having is every food i try her poos are awful nothing is ever solid (dont me like a rock but firmer would be better), she never had this problem until recently about 3-4 months maybe have had it sampled but nothing can be found and tried eliminating different foods etc.  So any advice on what food would be ideal to try she is currently on chappie as heard that being good for digeston but still they are sloppy (not runny) but hard to pick up etc.

Hi and welcome!

I have a young dog who ever since puppyhood (from about 4 months of age) had sloppy poo whatever I did. It was only him, his littersister was fine all along, as were all my other dogs- I tried every food I could think of, medication etc, you name it, we tried it. In the end the one and only thing that worked was feeding him raw meat and bones only. He's doing great now.

Have you tried Burns' Hayley?

I find Skinners Lamb and Rice makes for very solid poop! So much so that I can't feed our dog who has an anal hernia this type as he can't pass stool!

Why not email the website for advice?  I was chatting to John Burns last weekend and he is really helpful.  (Sorry about the 'name dropping', I couldn't resist it!!! :-)  :-)  )
