I really want/need a pair in my life but am reluctant to part with the price Ugg quote on their website so I just wondered if anyone else had bought a pair from an online store they could recommend? I've googled it & a million different sites come up but I know a lot will be copies/fakes. I'm after the classic tall ones in chocolate or chestnut. Thanks

there are some on MandM directs website. Personally I think they look vile but there was a leather pair that looked like normal boots but had the sheepskin lining which were nice but very expensive. They don't have the ones you are looking for but it might be worth keeping an eye on the site.

Glad I'm not the only one, they look like a cross between a slipper & a wellington boot. A welper or a slipton?

I buy most of my clothes and shoes from george. No point spending a fortune to get eye/mouth goober on them.
I certainly wouldnt pay for a pair of shoes which is the equivalent of 1 months mortgage!!

I didn't ask for your opinion on the price, I'm well aware they are expensive which is why I'm trying to find an online retailer that is cheaper but selling genuine goods.

no need for being short and rude. i was saying for me i would not pay it. there was no need for that at all.

I think that they are called that because they are absolutely ugly. There's no way that I would pay that kind of money for footware that was so awful, well actually wouldn't pay that kind of money for any footwear.
Not getting at you, just don't get why people are so crazy about them.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs

I spent ages looking for cheap ones online but only found ones that are being called uggs but not actually proper Australian Uggs....I ended up getting mine from Bank shop for £170. They were £170 but are 2 years old and still look and feel brand new. I wear mine around the house in the winter months and constantly forget Im even wearing something on my feet. My mum moaned that they were disgusting/not worth the money but I just sat there and ignored her with my warm cosy feet :p
the more i see of men....the more i love my dogs

I got a pair of ugg boots (well look - alikies) from Asda. £8. Bargain. Have worn them quite a bit and they still look really good. If you got an Asda near you i would definately recommend them

Presonally, i've never had a pair but i am now a convert. They are nice to wear as they keep your feet toasty and warm, and they are nicer alternative to trainers if you want something flat to wear. Generally i do think they are a 'young persons' choice of footwear.

Be very very careful buying them anywhere else other than the UGG Australia store on-line. The ones in topshop look suspect to me. When I get mine, the pair of ultra tall that they don't do over here any more or the anniversary limited addition ones. Its a similar price to get them shipped over from US to buying them from here. But i do love mine and had them years before the craze and tonnes of fakes came out. Im sat in my chestnut tall classics atm and i must admit i wear them everyday round the house. They are expensive and i'm going to have to wait a while. My friend is going to NY next week but cant get me any grrr, shes already bringing several pairs back and the box is very important. Would save me alot though. Im abit miffed that the stock over is alot better. Style is the key to liking these and those that dont, lack style lol!
Louise & Big Gingers

Me to.

I think they look very silly. Infact often very scruffy hanging down the leg etc
>I think that they are called that because they are absolutely ugly.
Or they make you think of caveman footwear, with the caveman saying "Ugg, oog, ugg" when he's finished cobbling them together before going out to clobber a sabre-toothed tiger with his club!
The cheap copies you see girls wearing seem to have no structure to them at all; the heels collapse and they're walking around on the boot itself and not the sole. Terrible - not worth the £4 they cost in the market.
A closed mouth gathers no feet

See thats the thing with the real ones, they have a hard part at the back to prevent that happening.
the more i see of men....the more i love my dogs
> Style is the key to liking these and those that dont, lack style lol!
Style to one is UGG to another

I'm not keen, because they remind me of the boots that my grandmother & great aunts wore, just after WWII - therefore to me, they look dowdy & fuddy-duddy - but hey - who am I to decide what is style and what is not - I grew up late 50s/60s :D :D :D
As I said in an earlier post, what comes round, goes round ..........

I got mine from an Ozzie website a few years back now and then the rest have come from stores in the US when i have been over there. Thing is the price of them aren't dropping even for the classic tall ones and there still is the demand for them, even over the summer months when i was looking in the hope they may of been cheaper.
I'm looking to get another 2 pairs, tall classic in chestnut and sand. I did pay last year £120 for one pair, but not seen anything like it since. Ebay often have links to online stores which sell them, again i know what you're saying in that which ones are true uggs and which ones are fakes.
Mine have all served me well and to me well worth the money.
A friend got some copy ones from Adsa, really cheap, but the soles were useless and didn't last very long. Mine got to the point that i wore them soo much that the seams split, bad me for wearing them in the rain as well.
If i find somewhere i'll let you know

I saw some on ebay recently and thought they look like the real deal. priced to be also. But on closer inspection of the photos they sole is solid black where as the pair on the UGG site are black with a red UGG stamp. You gotta be careful. i cough up the price for a genuine pair and also get the care kit too.
Louise & Big Gingers
I think that if you're prepared to pay the price then i would get them from a proper online shop. There were some deals over the summer on them, but i had cut up all my credit cards..

Gembo if you find a good online retailer let me know too! I have had two pairs of similar sheepskin boots, not Uggs and they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever had. I really don't care what they look like as I just want warm comfy feet!! Some of us reckon comfort is more important than how we look, I have had lots of trouble with my feet but these are fab. Only trouble is, mine have worn out after less than a year so if real Uggs last longer they would be worth it.

Ha ha Christine I do agree with you but then I have been known to go out with a hot water bottle tucked inside my jumper during an Inchture winter so I really don't care as long as I have warm feet!

I remember a similar topic about Crocs. I'm not sure I'll ever understand the need to criticise someone else's choices, be it footwear, clothing, hair style or partner!
Gembo - forums like this sometimes remove the inhibitions, or politeness, that prevent us from being openly critical about personal style choices. Honesty has its place but I don't recall you actually asking what everyone thinks of your intended boots!?
Thank heavens we all like different things, or you'd all be wearing my shoes, living in my house, married to my OH and we'd only have one breed of dog

I don't know any shortcuts to getting the boots you want at a price you want to pay but you can be glad that not everyone wants a pair or they'd be more difficult to find!! eBay sometime has quite good info on spotting fakes by the way which might be worth a read

You are correct dogs a babe & I apologise for the bluntness of my response.

They look pretty real to me! Maybe they are that price because they are last seasons 'style'? I love my 'ugg' boots, and may have a look into getting some real ones at some point

FAKES! definitely
How could they possibly make a profit on selling them for such a price, one of those pictures could pass for the asda pair. But you could buy them and not tell anyone. Just dont invite me to tea. i actua;;y had this convo with a woman that worked for ugg in US they have a live chat. let me dig out some pictures and we can compare

That's what I thought!! Oh well better get saving my pennies if I want 'real' ones!

Oh honey not you!! I was just a bit surprised that when you asked for information about where to get some boots from, you got a string of people telling you how horrible they are - which I thought was a bit rude. I was coming out in sympathy for you

That is very helpful info about fakes. Have just seen the lovely chocolate brown leather uggs on the Bank website, might go to the shop to try them on as I am size 6.5, and they make either 6 or 7.

>d'oh!< I really need to fully read posts before replying, thanks dogs a babe!!

Although I still think I should apologise to mahonc my reply was a bit blunt & probably not needed.
I knew lots of people wouldn't like them, just as I don't like crocs - it's all a matter of taste! Had some very helpful info though so am glad I posted!

I got some on ebay about 3 years ago which I didnt realise until I received them were from hong kong and were rubbish fakes (nothing like the picture !!) The ones im wearing now are about 3 years old, I cant remember what website I ended up getting them from but they are the real deal. I cant for the life of me remember how much I paid (About £110 rings a bell) they have retained their shape but one of them has split slightly at the seam which im a bit annoyed about. Im after some brown ones now, tried some on in primark and they were sooo uncomfortable, nothing like the real ones. If you do find somewhere please let me know
finally got my 5th silver 7 ..... 2 and a half stone off, only 8lbs to goal ... bring it on !
> I knew lots of people wouldn't like them
hey, i didnt say i didnt like them! i have a cheapy asda pair. i just couldnt afford to pay the price they cost!!
like i say some of them are the price of my mortgage and i have dogs that care not how much they cost or how much i like my new things

the website that you directed us to does not show close up of the actual ugg sign, in fact they cut it off on a few when you enlarge them.

Cant live without my ugg boots, had them three years they are stiil in good condition, bought a pair for £14 and they only lasted a few weeks so uggs to me are worth the price they are so cosy.

When I first saw the UGG boot I also thought Yuk, hideous! But then I tried on a friends and they were just so comfortable that I thought as with Crocs so what! I love the feel of them, so warm and comfortable.
I was going to buy some 'real' UGGS, but then I for once listened to my mother saying her usual your only paying for the name, they're everywhere, which they were, (the woven type - that look like slippers

they were everywhere last year weren't they?) so I picked some up from a local shoe shop, what a load of rubbish one heal lent to the side and they were a nightmare to walk in, so I just bought the originals, love them.
If you want the real thing, pay the real price, I honestly wouldn't look for them anywhere else, if you get fakes or special offers, you may find they don't sit or fit properly and fall to pieces after a months wear.
I do still think they are unattractive, well they are

but when they are on your feet you kind of forget.
Hayley and the nutty Cavaliers x

Got 3 pairs and i love them they are soooo comfy, 1 pair are the cardy uggs and the other 2 are tall classics, i really want a pair of the cargo uggs but they are too expensive at the minute.
I know they are not to everyones taste and to be honest when they very first come out i hated them but i am truely converted.
Now heres the truthful bit my cardy uggs are the real deal and cost a lot of money, the other 2 i got off the internet and i stupidly didnt do any research untill i ordered them, i paid with paypal and the payment went to someone called yaoming wu (it was meant to be from austrailia)
anyway that sent alarm bells ringing so after do some googling i was convinced they were fake and that was if they ever turned up. they did however turn up and yes they are fake, but you could never tell its bad really how good they are lol .
if you really want genuine Australian uggs go on the proper website and that will tell you who is allowed to sell them, remember that ugg itself is not a registered name so anyone can say they are selling uggs, its very easy to be ripped off.
I'm upsetting the planet one person at a time !!!!!!

You could just use Honey!
"As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way."

Wouldn't that be a bit sticky?

Ruth's (Honeybee) dog is called Honey & is a Coton du Tulear.

Ah! That certainly makes more sense!

I was very puzzled!
A closed mouth gathers no feet
> i have a cheapy asda pair.
I honestly cannot knock my cheapy asda pair. I think trying them on and getting the right size is important - i have got a smaller pair of ASDA uggs than my normal shoesize and because my foot fits so snuggly in them my foot doesnt lean over ruining the heel (like i see soo many girls doing wearing uggs)
I do spend a fortune on footwear but i couldnt justify paying so much on a 'comfy' pair of shoes - i like to spend ridiculous amounts of cash on equally ridiculous 'going out' shoes that i can barely walk in, hurt my feet but look oh so gorgeous

Im young, if i dont do it now i never will
(Before anyone warns me of the dangers of wearing silly shoes - dont bother

)
> You could just use Honey!
Perfect, solved two problems in one! I will be cosy and Honey won't have to use her little lazy legs!!!

I think I have got a degree in Uggs with the research I did on them before buying<g>
Anyway, this reply depends on whether you 'must have' Ugg Australia on the label on the back of the heel. You can still get genuine Ugg Boots. If the label doesn't matter then read on<g>
I wasn't prepared to pay £100 extra just for a 'label'. and after my 'degree', chose to get my Ugg boots from Hartings in NZ. Bare in mind the term 'Ugg' boots is the name given to the type of boot it is.....though Hartings also sell 'genuine' Ugg Australia Boots, which I think are made in China, they are not allowed to sell their genuine made Ugg Australia boots outside of Australia/NZ. (Ugg Australia sold out to a USA company hence the factory change). Anyway, what I am trying to say is Hartings do an equivalent called Canterbury. They are as good as 'genuine' Ugg Australia boots with their own (Canterbury) label and at half the cost. They don't have the range of colours that Ugg Australia do (or didn't have the last time I looked) but do have the popular colours (chestnut/black/chocolate).
I had mine within a week of ordering them and did not get clobbered with the import duty<lucky me!> (I told them the boots were a gift as they were - to myself

) I ordered online and paid £65 which included postage. Before ordering I emailed the people out there asking different questions and found them to be very helpful. Mine are 'genuine' Ugg boots without the designer label AND made in NZ not China

Any online seller/store using the name UggAustralia is usually an impostor as Ugg Australia does not give permission for the use of their name. Go to the Ugg Australia site and it explains it all there (or did do).
The
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com has a forum just for Uggs and the last time I looked it was over 300 pages long! There is loads of info, more than you will ever need, on Uggs there.
If you 'must have' the 'label', then I advise you to read the moneysaving forum as it will tell you there where to get them from, and be the genuine Ugg Australia ones.
My only advice if you go to Hartings is that I bought the same shoe size as what I wear normally. Some people have had problems with Ugg Australia sizes and it is advised that you go some place to try them on before buying (I didn't have that problem with Hartings, nor had I tried any pair of Uggs on before buying them).
I would also advise anyone not to buy Uggs off ebay as so many are fakes and fall apart within weeks of having them, plus the quality is no where near as good as the genuine ones.

Hello i bought my grey classic cardys from this online store last year
http://www.danielfootwear.com/they came nxt day well packed and i was happy with the price , at the time i did scroll the net and this place come up cheaper than most and in stock,

Counterfeit goods sites pertaining to be UK sites Worse yet.... remember many of these sites go to fund organised crime, Drugs, people trafficking, enforced prostitution and gun trafficking

Counterfeiting is known as Intellectual Property Crime (IPC) and google it if you don't believe me, Interpol stats show the Terrorist organisations with proven links.
If you look at sites that specialise in sheep skin products you will find some very good quality boots for a fraction of the price. And if you can bide your time, one of my Girlfriends is a senior buyer for a major UK retailer and she was saying the market will be flooded this autumn as every retailer is sourcing Ugg style boots.

But they remind me of my childhood in Norway.. even if they remind everyone else of the big furry Monster in the muppet show!

John Lewis for mine and I love them.
The soles have changed since i last purchased a pair from a store. These soles you mention fro the OZ site are are lot thicker, the soles in the ones Gembo has mentioned look the same as what i have right now and they are legit..
But again i would be wary with that price though..
