The price of those boots are pretty much the same as what you would pay in the States for UGG's themselves. Again there is a delivery charge as there would be if you purchased them from a legit site located in the States. If they were that much cheaper then i may look to convert..

I love Uggs because they are so warm and comfortable, I am on my second black pair which I purchased from Selfridges in Manchester a couple of months ago - beware of buying black as the dye from the sheepskin stains your feet, even if you only wear them for an hour or two and don't get them wet!  I am contemplating returning them for a light colour so I don't get inky black feet!  This did not happen to the celt boots I had which were from celt sheepskin, proving to me some of the copies are just as good or better than the real thing!

What's the difference between wearing leather and wearing sheepskin? They're the same thing, only one's still got all the hair on!

I got told that Muklak boots were lined with rabbit or fox fur and had paid farms to keep up with the demand. Not sure how true that was though.

I'm quite sure in every industry there is the good, the bad and the ugly.. I think most consumers are quite savvy now about this though arn't they, we all heard of the Panorama program that exposed Primark's exploitation of child forced labour showing an 11-year-old Tamil girl at the Bhavani Sagar refugee camp is shown sewing sequins on a shirt from the Secret Possessions range, and we check our Tuna in the supermarket etc etc.....
  There's the ethical and the unethical, I think the consumer knows these days to be aware and responsible in their purchases if thats what they want to do

The ones I have from Hartings - no they don't slop sideways, the heels have stayed firm and still are firm and that is with regular wearing. They are reinforced, if you look at the pictures you should be able to see what I mean. Some of the cheap ones seen in shops over here don't have that and they are the ones that slop sideways from what I have seen.

Someone mentioned the colour coming off on their feet, that shouldn't happen. Apparently there are two ways to do the 'dying' part, doing it one way does make them more susceptible to the colour coming out and the other way doesn't. Hartings (I asked them) use the process where the colour doesn't come out. (Sorry I can't remember the site I saw the process being explained on, otherwise I would put a link here for you). I have the Oxford/tall chocolate colour ones (inside and out) and the dye has never come off on my feet. (may be it is just the black ones that do this, I can't remember now, but it is down to the process used).

Which ever ones you get, remember to waterproof them before wearing. (I think they tell you to do that on the care label that comes with them though).

When I want my next pair, I will be going back to Hartings - good price for the genuine article, made in NZ. (I don't need the designer label.) (and I think I should add, I am not affiliated to Hartings in any way, I only heard about them from the moneyaving forum)

I've never understood the difference with rearing and killing animals for meat or their fur.  As humans we don't actually need either and so as long as they are kept with care and consideration and killed humanely, I have no problem with wearing sheepskin, leather or fur.

It's sheepskin Carrington   I've had the toscana boots, had a black pair a few years ago and last year got the mocca ones, in fact they are on my feet as I type!

Ahhhh no, Im not one of these anti-fur people....I have a friend that hates the whole fur trade yet has no problem sitting in a certain fast food place serving chicken and wearing leather shoes, she says theres a difference though !

As comfy as rabbit fur would be, my 7 year old would never speak to me again if she realised mummy had rabbits keeping her feet warm

Ahhhh......... I know he is a real treasure, he's one of those men who gets a real kick out of buying me something I really want. I live in my Uggs - love them!! I got a pair of chestunt classic talls from Schuh, I think I (well, I say 'I' but my OH bought them for me) paid full whack for them at £170, 2 years on though they are still going strong, despite an unfortuntate incident with my new puppy mistaking them for a toilet (anyone who knows me on facebook will understand!!!)

Anyway - wantd a couple more pairs a few months ago but didn't want to pay full price for them, luckily for me I have an Aunt who lives in Australia and she kindly sent me some, they took forever to get here but they are just like the real deal, except for the label is slightly different on the back as mine are genuine Australian ones rather than the "Made In Australia" ones which are actually American I think!! They worked out at about £70 a pair.

Hi Gembo

I love my uggs!! Am planning on buying a new pair in the next week or so. The cheapest place I found was at the designer outlet near us and they have a danil footwear shop which is slightly cheaper with it being in the designer outlet!! It means you can also go and try them rather than buying them off the net.

Ive got a pair of non UGGS from the celtic sheep store mine are shorties and bright purple, BUT they make my feet ache. Its a bit like wearing wellies they have no support and youngsters I have seen wearing the cheapie versions walk over very badly.

BUT again for a cold cold rugby match they are toasty I just cant really walk far in them mine were about £90, under trousers or nice thick tights in the winter i think they look fab. But Im biased I have had mine about 2 years and they are still pristine, but the cheaper ones look just that cheap!!

This is what puts me off the classic UGGs, and I'm loathed to shell out for little more than flipflop soles! Plus the world and his whippet are wearing them... But... I love the whole snuggly sheepskin thing!!

Soooo Ive found the perfect solution!! Ugg 'Langley' Boots Much better value for money in my mind, they arrived on Friday... I've lived in them since them.... 6 women stopped me on the tube today to ask where I bought them... and they are very comfy, lovely soft leather. I feel a bit 'edgier' with these and I can still plough through puddles with the dogs in them!

My daughter was looking at UGG boots this week.  One store in Aberdeen has the classic tall ones in Chestnut for £200 yet on the UGG website they're £57.71.  I can't believe anyone still buys on the high street with prices differences like this one...

The link doesn't work for me but, looking at the URL, that site looks like it's a fake to me.  Be very careful if you are ordering on-line as there are only a few approved Ugg Australia retailers but hundreds and hundreds of sites selling fakes.  You can generally save a few quid buying on-line usually but the discounts on Uggs aren't significant so if it seems to good to be true...it's a fake!

Do you know - it never occurred to me to think this was a site selling fakes!!  I'm used to being suspicious of small retailers, on eBay for instance, that I didn't think about fakes on this kind of scale!!
