I went to Belfast show and got a 3rd in open dog. A friend has told me my boy will now get a stud book number and is qualified for Crufts for life.

Is this true???

:-)

I am quite unfamiliar with the in's and out's of showing...is there a good website which explains the rules and awards in layman's terms. I tried reading the KC site but just get more confuddled.
Cheers

It depends on the breed and whether there were CCs available at the show or not. Only the most numerical breeds get a stud book number via 3rd in Open, for others only a 1st counts, yet others a 1st or 2nd etc, and only at shows where tickets are available.

Marianne. Dogs are not our whole lives, there are cats too!

Hi Freewayz, it wasn't a Crufts qualifying show for our breed I'm afraid... no CC's on offer...
No more qualifying shows to enter for 2010. If you want a list of qualifying shows for next year, let me know.. :-)
