Noticed this as I was grooming her the other night. She is 9 mth old ridgeback bitch. It is pea sized, very hard seems to be part of the bone, not sore to touch or press and she is not lame. I intend taking her to the vets but she is in season and bleeding heavily so am waiting for that to ease up a bit before going. Does this ring any bells with anyone as for what it could be? Thanks in advance... Again!
Is it just under the 'knee' at the front of her front leg? Does she have a matching one on her other front leg? Then it might be because she's still growing all of mine have had a small 'lump' just under the front of the knee joint until they stopped growing, then it becomes less noticeable
If she hasn't got a matching one on the other leg, then probably not that
Life is what happens while you're making other plans...
If she hasnt got one the other side, I'd be off up the Vets just to make sure. You could maybe go on a very early or very late appointment if her season is very heavy.
Maybe she has banged it and its just abit of soft tissue swelling around the bone. I was thinking it maybe a growth plate too but she should have one on the opposite side as Dill says.

Hi thanks for the replies. it's not under her knee, it is on the outside of her right leg, on the fibula, not on a joint at all. It is not disturbing her at all, not sore to touch, it has not gone down at all though, nor is it increasing. Mysterious! Not soft or moveable, it is as far as I can tell, part of the bone, almost like a spur...
I agree to check with the vet but it could just be a bite, one of my puppy owners had a tick after it had been removed it left a little lump for months that was on the leg too.
