As some of you may not know, I have a new addition to the family - Daisy is a black Cocker and is 3 months old

She's into EVERYTHING at the moment and particularly loves chewing - I've bought her a puppy kong and was just wondering if others have recipes or ideas of what to put in it for her? I made some gravy and soaked it in gravy today but she is not interested!! I haven't tried the kong-brand 'filler' you can buy as it seems very expensive and I am sure someone once told me it was a bit rich for their dog. Do any of you have recommendations, please? Daisy loves most food!!

There was a great post a few years ago about kong recipes, I'll see if I can find it.  From memory some of the recipes involved smearing peanut butter, philadelphia, scrambled eggs etc.  If we have bangers n mash (having them for tea 2nite yippeee!) I always make extra gravy for Molly but I put a few bonios in there too & she loves it, makes a bit of a mess though!!

Daisy sounds adorable, I'm sure she's very cute.

Gembo - I have filled the kong with gravy and biscuits and frozen it!! I am actually very excited to see Daisy's reaction when I give the Kong to her later!!

I think I could start a catalogue of kong recipes
Almost everything I put in kong, I freeze to make it last longer and reduce stain damage to my carpet!
Mason likes scambled eggs, natural yogurt with fruit, gravy with chopped up ham, reduced sugar jam, peanut butter, mashed bananna, mashed potato, left over risotto etc etc
If you get a small piece of processed type cheese and use it as a 'bung' in the small hole you can fill it with water with bits of biscuits or meat and freeze it upright. Like an ice-lolly but harder to get at I found this was great when it was hot to get him to drink more water (fussy little git)

I'm going to use a different recipe from you guys every day so that Daisy can have a bit of variety! I'm working this morning and my partner is away so left Daisy this morning with the kong with frozen gravy and biscuits in. I can't wait until lunch time so I can see what she has made of it!! She's in the utility room with a tiled floor so I'm hoping there wont be too much mess.

Thanks for the cheese 'bung' tip!! I froze this one upright, I put it in a little dish full of gravy. I've never been so excited about a dog toy - I'm like a child on Christmas morning

Sorry late in replying computer hit and miss as there was a fault on the BT cable and it took three different Open Reach engineers to sort it out. Yes, that where I used to get it sometimes I would put a biscuit inside then paste over the hole, when he had licked the paste out he used to bounce it on the floor to get the biscuit out.
