Morning all, having been up for most of the night with a 8 month old pup who has had a nasty reaction to a GA yesterday resulting in vomitting and copious amounts of bloody watery dire-rear. (Scrubbed my floors and my hads raw overnight!!)Trip to vet at silly O'clock this AM and anti-emetic jab plus anti-biotics jab, she is now a little more settled. Obviousley a light meal of something is called for this evening if she is settled today, my question, I have some nice fresh tuna fillets normally I would feed her some white fish and mashed potato but do you think the tuna would be OK in place of white fish? I would rather not go out to the shops today and leave her if only for an hour if I can avoid it so hence the use of the tuna as opposed to white fish. I do have some minced white fish (From PAH in the freezer as it's part of thier diet anyway, could I use that?)
Thanks Aileen

I wouldn't use the tuna personally, as you say it's meant to be white fish and although I can't say I have any experience about feeding it to dogs, when we gave it to our cats several of them developed explosive diarrhoea as a direct result of the tuna. The PAH fish has to be better, although not as good as cod or coley sold for human consumption.

I find pasta works really well for dodgy tummies in my dogs (better than rice) and tend to mix this with either boiled fish or chicken.

Chicken...dhuuu! I have lots of chicken breasts in the freezer...what a dumbo! I will use that, so easy when a fresh new mind is on the job, mine is still paddling about in last nights mopping sessions I think!
Thanks
Aileen and a very quiet Shabby! For a change!!

PS The tuna was for the girlies anyway as they often have some to contribute to the variety in their diet. So they are used to it but normally raw.

I find tuna can upset my dogs stomachs too, so wouldn't give them that.

Mashed potato or plain pasta is good to feed dogs with an unsettled stomach, also hard boiled eggs great if they have the runs and a little plain yoghurt can also help.
