The thing that confuses me is that he talks of all previous attempts at crossing the breeds has failed due to the pups dyingbut mentions starting a breeding programme.  What with - 1 bitch and no dog?

Such responsible breeding........... not!

I can't see how that can be as sibes have practically zero gufaring ability.

He doesn't actually explain how he's going to breed them, when there is only one in the world!

Obviously thinks he is going to make a lot of money for this sought after breed, but the ££££ signs in his head are getting him all muddled up!

there's not going to be many ££££'s on the go if,as he says, all previous attempts have led to the pups dying.  I can't imagine that any police force or protection agency will take on dogs until there are at least a few generations to make sure they don't have any severe hereditary issues or die young after they have invested lots of training.  Bizarre!

Think anyone with any sense would realise this cross is flawed if all previous attempts have lead to the death of all progeny erm nature is trying to tell him something but he's not listening!

This is in my local area and was in local rag and also on local (anglia) news tonight when he had pup - eyes not open yet - out in his garden with interviewer holding pup!
Guy was spouting how 'it would get stamina from the husky and work/guard atitude from the malinois'...............wot like the guarantee 'non-shedding' from the oodles or has he found a way to pre-programme which genes it got from which parent. what a £££minded pratt.

More likely to get a very intelligent but difficult to train dog that pi***s off into the distance !

Been discussing this for days already all over the net LOL. That breeder hasn't got a clue. He is quoted as saying that he is wanting to create a Malinois that can run further -well there is no way on earth anyone can tire out a Malinois as it is, ESPECIALLY not a working bred one as his bitch is. Huskies are not meant to have any guarding instinct at all so that makes no sense. And security dogs tend to be patrolled on leads so why would they need the stamina to run far? And why the guarding instinct anyway? A security dog needs to be okay to be walked around potentially thousands of people (such as at music festivals for instance) without showing any aggression, not until TOLD to.

My bet would be this pup will end up too friendly if anything, (i.e. not appearing scary enough) that's the influence the Husky will have had.

lol, maybe there needs to be a human breeding programme to create a super human who can keep up with the dog!

Marianne, if you have been discussing this over the net already has there been any light shed on why the pups have previously died?  It seems bizarre when multiple cross breeds/mongrels have been bred for centuries, why would this particular cross never live?

That's exactly what I was shocked about reading this story...I assumed any dog could be breed together? Seems strange and unheard of that two similar breeds of dogs could not produce healthy pups?
They would of had far more of a guard dog using some other breed- (I will not mention them just in case some numpty thinks money to be made there and breed them)- not a husky- heard that they are useless as guard dogs as lot have been stolen from a home breeder near my area.

The general consensus is just that he doesn't know what he is doing -there should be no need whatsoever for this cross to NOT produce puppies.
