Is it a good Idea to keep a bitch with two dogs. Have many people had success at this. Or is it very dependant on the dogs and bitch concerned. I had the neighbours Spaniel bitch out with my two standard schnauzers dogs and was amazed how well they all got on. Seemed to make the dogs more obedient is this possible or was it a one off.
Thankyou, Geordie.

If the bitch is spayed yes, otherwise the dogs will compete for the bitches attentions as she comes towards her seasons, and could end up fighting for the right to mate with her.

Those who own multiple males with entire bitches are usually very careful with the boys as the time for seasons approaches and segregate to avoid issues.

You'll get mixed responses on this one.

I have a multi dog household, with males and females.  Some entire, some neutered.   When I have girls in season, my 3 stud boys sleep together in a large crate, and I have no problems.  Other than the usual!  They lose weight and sing a lot.
The hurrier I go - the behinder I get!

It really depends on the dogs. The most successful combination I've ever had was two dogs and one bitch, all entire. It wouldn't work to have that ratio with my current dogs.
Marianne. Dogs are not our whole lives, there are cats too!
