hi all,as smoe of you know i have a variety in dogs.four in all with all different things they enjoy doing.a few months back i was looking for a toy poodle of which i now have and she is lovely.
funny kind loving gentle and so naughty lol(puppy naughty)
anyways we tried the ring craft and i could just tell she hated it,i would ask her to annd(we used this work because she couldn t quite work out the stand command) and her tail would go under like i was telling her off i tried everything she is only 6  months but she just didnt seem happy much to my huge disapountment seeing as it was what i wanted to try my hand at.....anyways listen to me vering off..lol

ive taught her a few tricks.she weaves jumps poles level to the floor i wouldnt have her jumping proper jumps yet ;-) and opens the box at the end of the garden and fetches me the baby plastic keys and will sit and wait to be told 'finish'. and shes just 6 months.
i took down my old bathroom cabinet and saw her pawing at it and i had a brilliant idea.lol
im wondering if anyone eles has any new origianal ideas i can do with her shes so smart and i love to do things with her.

i sat with her once placed cheese under one cup and had two cups either side and said find.....soon enough she was finding it and waiting for a treat.

so any new ideas would be great thanx all.

That is so cute :-) I used to do this with my pup, but I would say 'with paw' for him to turn the cup over with his paw to get the treat out, or 'with nose' for him to do it with his nose. I had totally forgotten about that so will go and see if he can still remember it, LOL.

Brill :-)
As she is so great at fetching things, you could teach her the name of different objects around the house and get her to fetch them to you and/or to put them in a bin/basket, ie. she could tidy up all her toys or bring you your slippers :-)

That test looks like good fun, but I'm afraid Buster would come out with the lowest score possible :-(
If Buster is in an excitable mood he will remove a towel from his head in the blink of an eye, it's funny to watch as he chucks it across the room, it looks like he's disgusted with it, LOL, but if he's in his usual chilled-out mood he'll happily walk around the house & garden with a bath towel draped over his face, head & body untill it is taken off him.

I am a little sad that the test, for the dog to attempt to get a treat from under a short table, does not offer the option of points for the following action - 'dog stares at treat willing it to move, dog then stares at human willing human to move, dog walks towards human and nudges them in the direction on the treat so the human can pick up the treat and place in dogs mouth' - score top marks for being able to get human to act like a slave that would be Busters method, LOL.

Thank you so much for that link!   :-)

I am absolutely hooked on her videos.  Have just enjoyed a few minutes (going back there now!)

Super example of reward based training.  I could watch her for hours.
The hurrier I go - the behinder I get!
