Hi all,

Just getting the last few items sorted for whelping. Have been reading about the items below but am now totally confused as to which I should have on hand in case needed. What does everyone else favour?

1. Life Aid
2. Nutri Drops
3. Dopram V
4. Puppy Saver
5. Puppy Stim (same as Puppy Saver I think!)

Any guidance will be gratefully received!

Have used dopram V, so I would go with this again, but havent used the others so no experience of them.
Hope someone can come along and help soon

1. Life Aid
2. Nutri Drops
3. Dopram V

All have different uses and essential in any whelping kit.

Agree with westlife.  Have to admit that the one that has been a miracle worker for me is Dopram.  Buy one whenever I have a bitch mated.  Even if I end up throwing it away without using it, it is money well spent, having the stuff "just in case."

I also wouldn't be without obstetric gel.  In an emergency, when you know there is no time to get to a vet, many a pup, presented badly, has been saved by being heavy handed with the gel!  :-)

I still remember the looks I got in the village pharmacy when I asked for KY Jelly and small syringes without needles- They must have wondered what on earth as I trotted happilly out of the shop!

I use this one, it's a good price too.  You get loads for around three quid.  I get syringes from the same place.

I usually fill 4 syringes (just in case), when they start contractions.  It gets squirted down the sink if I don't need it!
