Reading another thread, I thought I'd start a new topic rather than hijack that thread.

As we seem to be about to start a nationwide postal strike I was wondering how and Idexx tests would be affected.

I've only used in-house pre-mate tests in the past but was considering using Idexx this time as it seems they are more accurate. I understand, from what I've read on this forum, they post you out a kit, you get your vet to take the blood sample which is then posted back to Idexx for analysis. How will all this be affected with a postal strike? Could couriers be used instead? Or am I best sticking with the in-house pre-mate tests?

I was watching This Morning the other day and they had someone on who said that Post Office resources are likely to be managed to ensure that timed deliveries still get through.  Postal services like Special Delivery are least likely to be affected.

I'm not sure how it will directly affect Idexx but the general view is that many companies will simply make alternative arrangements.  RM shooting themselves in the foot it seems :-)

Can you ring Idexx to check their arrangements?

Yes, that's probably the best option!
