I'm thinking of changing our two labs dried food.  they work during the winter & whilst our girl is rather well covered, our young lad isn't (we've been feeding him up on tripe but he just runs any weight gain off).  The old girl also has a very dull coat, reddish black & dusty.  They will eat anything (quite literally :-o) but have had a quick look at Autarky & it seems to have a good amount of oil & protein in.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of it.

Cheers :-D

I used it briefly but found my dogs lost weight on it and I know a friend of mine that had the same.

mine used to be on but it put too much weight on one of mine and one it didnt put any weight on (that might have been due to the fact it contains chicken and we found since that he is intollerant to chicken !!)

Have you tried skinners ? ive had good results from that too.  Believe it or not the only food that puts weight on my skinny (no longer) boy is burns eek and it also keeps the weight off my fatty. I do add tripe to mine.
finally got my 5th silver 7 ..... 2 and a half stone off, only 8lbs to goal ... bring it on !

I have tried mine on Autarky but went straight through them.
The best food for mine has been skinners field and trial. You do not need to feed alot of it i have found.
I have a young GR that i had a lot of trouble getting weight on,i found that skinners helped alot for her weight and condition.
One Golden is never enough.

Hi,
I tried my three on this food. None of them took to it. It gave them terrible wind, made them poo alot more, and seemed to make my springer incredibly itchy. This has been my expierience of the food, im sure others dogs have done fine on it. It just didnt suit mine (two back labs and a springer). I now feed CSJ that'll do, really happy with how my dogs look on it and its a great price.

It's like everything it may suit some not others.

My lot have no problems with Maize or chicken, dogs that do would not get on with this food, same as those that don't tolerate beef and wheat won't do will with others.

For example the Skinners field and Trial made my lot loose.

One thing I did notice when first starting the Autarky that due to some of the herbs that tend to have a laxative effect for about the first week or so the poos were a bit softer than on the Arden Grange, but after this they were nice and firm as usual for  one, roil on a shovel jobs.

I first treied it when I ahd an older bitch who sicked up yellow bile in the morning that denes herbal tablets helped, I thought as the food had them in it might suit, and it did.
