Just wanted to share with you my successful day at an agility show. Some of you who have given me advice over the years will know that this is a great achievement for Meg and I. If it will give some hope and encouragement to folks struggling with their dogs then I hope this post will do some good. From having a dog who barked and lunged while queueing and then got so excited she wouldn't wait at the start - making most of my rounds were a failure before I started. I have now started to get clear rounds rather than eliminations. We have had 3 clear rounds today - getting 5th, 4th and finally 3rd place. She barked a little when she got close enough to see the other dogs jumping but calmed down as soon as I told her. She did a wait at the beginning but when the judge clapped and shouted well done at the end Meg went haring off to him thinking that he was going to make a fuss of her.

Taking her into the exercise field I thought she would run about with the other dogs - but no! After saying hello to our old puppy class trainer she came back and played with her tuggy and didn't leave my side. All in all a very satisfactory day. And to think how close I came to getting rid of her - just a year ago!
