Friend has just brought home here 8week old lab puppy, complete with food & feeding instructions from the breeder.

The trouble is, the breeder has written down "feed 4 times a day until 4 months" ....but hasn't put down just how much to feed!

As this puppy is on tinned pedigree puppy + mixer, I can't advise - reading the tin it would appear to advocate 2 tins per day at 8 weeks .....is this correct?

Help - need someone who feeds pedigree puppy food!

I would take the tins amounts as a guide.  For my breed it would be far too much so that is why I point this out in my notes to new owners. 

I expect the breeder probably agrees with the amounts on the tin, so I would start with that and adjust accordingly (if pup not clearing it all or gets the runs then it is too much).

Thanks Barbara - that's what I've advised ...start with less, if its cleared then give more.

BTW - just to make it clear - typo in my first post should have read "brought home HER ...." not "brought home here" :D
