Has anyone used one of these?

The Vax V-124, the heated one with a 6yr guarantee...

Just thinking about investing in one and wondered if it's any good....
The general review comments seem ok on amazon but wondered if anyone here had
any experience with this machine.

I have the Vax Classic upright and it is brilliant. So easy to use, sucks a lot of water back up and so carpets are almost dry. No heavy effort  involved (light weight) and so you don't  end up in a lather. Brilliant, especially when you have dogs as it keeps the carpets smelling fresh.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

Mmm I have got one of those and it packed up working after a few months :-( I used it quite a lot so don't think it was designed for heavy use.

What the V-124 or the classic?

Classic I think. I will look at it tomorrow as we are going to see if we can mend it otherwise we are going carpet shampooers shopping tomorrow :-)

Ive borrowed a carpet cleaner from a friend and also from my mum and I think they are rubbish. Hardly any water comes out and if it does it comes out in lines. Am I doing something wrong?

Looks good and a good price too.....
But the Vax 124 one has a 6 year guarantee....and that's the temptation..
Also on the amazon review someone had a bissell and thought the vax was better...
ARRGHHH I'm stuck now!
LOL

A friend had a Bissell and it was rubbish.  I've not had the new types but used to love my old cylinder vax carpet cleaner.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs

Well we've gone and done it....
We bought the vax :-)
Keep your fingers crossed we're trying it out tomorrow on the living room carpet
it desperately needs it - and it will be done again in two weeks as we've got
one of the girls in season at the mo....
And it's driving me mad with 'smellyness' to leave it for another two weeks and only
do it the once :-)
