Hi all

Rarely post on here (apart from my intro) but do read every single day and find the forum fascinating.

I just wanted to ask what is probably a very stupid question <g>.  On the various parts of the forum, the breed of dog posted about rarely seems to be stated. Its either not there at all or in short (ie GR).  Now I can work out GR but not many of the others.  Is there a reason why they arent stated?   I try to take in all the information I can but knowing the breed being spoken about would help it absorb in my little brain

The breed of dog being spoken about can not be mentioned on the breeding board unless it is particularly relevant to the question as it maybe a form of advertising . On any other board it is allowed to mention the breed. The abbreviations are just quicker to write and come naturally if you own them although I can see it may be confusing at times when you are trying to work out an unfamilier abbreviation.

Thanks Satincollie.  I try to get an idea from the posters name and sometimes from their avatar pictures but they are often too small to see unless you know the breed I guess.

I can understand it not being allowed on the breeding forum but thanks for clearing up that it is allowed elsewhere.  If Im particularly interested in a thread and I really cant work it out, at least I know I can ask now
