My bitch was spayed 4 years ago and every so often attracts males as if she's in season.she's also flirting with my males any ideas as to why? does she think she's in season. she appears to have  a slight discharge  which doesn't smell.

I have a seven year old who was speyed 5 months ago due to a pyometra and she displays the same behaviour with my male at home.  Would be interesting to find out if its for a particular reason or just the attention.

If it was just the boys being interested in her I'd consider a uti or other infection. However if she's flirting too it's possible that a small piece of ovarian tissue was left behind when she was spayed, and this is functioning well enough to give off hormones as it would if she was still intact. Your vet can do a blood test which should determine this.

Exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine.  Her rescued bitch was spayed and she was very tempremental and hormonal, and her entire male was a nightmare when her 'season' would have been due.  They tried giving her male hormones to try and supress it but it failed to work.

In the end another Vet opened her up again, this was about 2 years later, and she was found to have quite alot of tissue still in there so once that was removed, she has stopped all her flirting etc too and her male has not bothered with her since.
