Hi Javi...I have one of my dogs who has firework phobia.Over here  in Italy we have fireworks on New years eve,in almost every part of Italy and they go on for hours. What i do is to give bach rescue remedy ,starting in the afternoon, then every 3 hours until the fireworks are finished. I take my dog into my bedroom and put on a loud film on tv...its been nine years since Ive joined in the celebrations, preferring to stay with my dog and her phobia. If we follow this routine she  comes through fine provided she can cuddle close and feel safe.
My other dog couldnt care less, even going to the windows in my sons room  to look at the flashes. They are same breed but different characters.
I hope your dog comes through this well
Jo and Sophia.

dreadful I hate them with a passion.

Luckily my dogs dont bother one tries to get out to them the others just ignore them...I looked after on of my puppies who was around 14m around Nov 5th last year he was petrified shaking from head to toe ..never having experienced it before it was quite a shock to me how he reacted, my heart went out to him . I rang Dorwest and they advised me to give him valerian compound 5ml twice a day . I was surprised at how much calmer it made him so I gave it to him for a few nights.
Faithful and true to the last beat of his heart.

i dont mind fireworks normaly!!! my dogs are not bothered by them at all,
we let off a few on the 5th, (had to put some in the attic for next year as i'd bought a buy one get one box free offer and it was WAY to much to do ) id had enough after around the 8th firework i lit that night so we saved the rest.

but i do agree here im totally fed up with them now as Thursday and Friday their were LOADS going off Saturday the local parks had a big display it was Very loud and then late last night around 11pm someone in the little estate behind my house let a load of them very loud ones off and again an hour ago they let off aload more,
and as i sit here now some people are on the grass out the front of my house letting off MORE!!!
Enough Already its over can we have peace now PLEASE!!!!!!

Also must say when i was in asdas today i noticed they are still selling them and had quite afew left in their cabinets,

used to be that you could not get them the day after as they would sell out on the day ,
I love dogs...it's humans that annoy me

well i think they should be banned or banned not to be used after the 5 nov, i mean this country is so health and safety about things and rules for this and that, we have the smoking ban how about a firework ban dont get me wrong im not a killjoy but there should be a time and a place

Having said my furries aren't bothered by them little Mia decided to prove me wrong about half way through last night. She becams a shaking panting mess and ended up sotting on my lap with a cushion over her , followed by coming to bed in the bed with me untill it was all quiet. If it happens again I shall get some rescue remedy to start with and see how she goes. Fortunbately my gsd isn't bothered and was wandering around the garden ignoring everthing. Yes I have had enough now too

We have not been bothered by many fireworks this year..very quiet here.

We did have one large bang as i let the dogs in the garden...but they dont mind them.
The pup is only 13weeks and she didnt react at all to the bang....i thought maybe she would have.

We had a springer many years ago who was terrified of fireworks and it was very sad to see him have to suffer through the evening.
He was the same with xmas crackers....so we never had them.
Very sad for animals, they dont understand what is happening.
One Golden is never enough.

The DAPcollar has worked really well for our Luka this year. He's barked at the bangs but is not the wreck he's been in the past.

From £17 online. And unlike the plug-in diffuser, it works straight away.

What has also helped is living close to Salisbury Plain - constant Army bangs and thuds have helped de-sensitise him. The firework CDs are a good alternative option.

Mine are fine they may jump at a realy loud one but just look at me and seeing no reaction just go back to sleep. I was going to say the same as the last poster. It would be a good idea for all new puppy owners to buy one of those CDs during the first couple of months to desensitise, just in case.

My aussie is the first dog I've had that actually sits and watches the fireworks, even when one of my neighbour uses his gun to shot rats as there was a problem in the summer round here he didn't care it make life so much easier not like my collies used to be.

Well I put a thread up here on how much quieter it has been this year - and on the whole it has.  Last night was not pleasant for my Meg - someone decided to have fireworks in one of our neighbours gardens.  Meg - who has had a bit of a jippy tum since all this started wanted to go out in the garden.  She was interupted half way and shot back in doors having not finished!  Poor thing - when I realised the problem she tried to wipe herself on my carpet before I could wipe her.  I managed to get her back outside eventually and stood fingers and toes crossed that it remained quite while she relieved herself.  So having cleaned her and my carpets I was not amused by the fireworks - especially as I had 4 rocket remains to collect this morning.  - How would they feel if I threw rubbish in their garden.
