Not in dogs though - been there, done that..........

But my first Champion cat!   And the first Selkirk Rex in Scotland to win it's title - the accolade goes to my lovely Hope, now (Subject to GCCF confiormation) known as Champion Crinkles Hope.     She won her first CC at Cumberland CC on 10th October, 2nd CC at Yorkshire County CC on 14th October and her third today at Cheshire Area CC.  We've really clocked the miles up!  As you can only show a cat from your household every 13 days, we've not done too badly timewise.

Congratulations Christine, I have just had a peek at you website as I had never seen a Selkirk Rex, Hope is beautiful. To get her title in such a short space of time is fantastic. Well done.

Thanks everyone.     I must admit I went with trepidation yesterday as Hope's judge had been judging last weekend and withheld from all cats she had judged bar 2 so I must admit I wasn't thinking this was going to be easy so I was relieved to see the awards board, even though she has been on her own at all shows there have been cats withheld from in the British section.

Anyway, here is madam with her Open 1st & BOB rosette and then with her gold CC!   And I can't seem to find them this morning on unpacking all my bags so I must've left them in my haste to get out of the show hall!  :-(

She's a beauty!

Pity you can't find the Gold CC Card - I've always thought how much nicer (special :-D ) they look than the KC green and white ones

Well done Christine and Hope -and here's to the Grands and then the Imperials!! ;-) You've done really well -it took me 7 years of showing before I had a titled cat!

Already got plans for 3 shows for Grands ;-) but I think I will call it a day after that, she doesn't protest at a show but she doesn't ever look like she loves it!

AND, I did leave the CC & rosettes at the show, the secretary is putting them in the post to me!  Hurrah!

Congratulations - I looked for photos when this first was posted and found your link to the gundog database.  Fascinating - could trace my old dog right back to the early 1800s.   Now I have seen your champ and she looks lovely. Well done and thanks for the link!
By ChristineW (*****) [gb] Date 16.11.09 23:10 GMT
Sylvia & Menno do an excellent job of hosting the gundog database, I must admit I am a very lax moderator for the LM database because I don't get the info that the other 2 mods get!  I need someone who has the last 4 gundog BRS to scan them through to me!

What breed was it you looked for?

Our old dog was an English Setter and although he died some 8 years ago I still have his pedigree.  His father was on the database but had no parentage - I can link him up to the dogs already on there through my dogs pedigree.  I have been in touch with the person who is doing this and will add my information.

I showed Devon Rex cats 11 years ago, my boy obtained CH and Grand Premier titles.

Looking at your pictures reminded me of how lovely the rosettes are at cat shows. I know I probably sound a bit silly but it really annoys me that we don't get the same quality of awards at dog shows!

Well done, I can still remember the emotion of winning that 3rd CC :-)

But we don't pay £36 to enter one dog either. :-)

Many congratulations she does not seem too fussed does she? Really laid back cat and stunning.

I've not paid £36 to show a cat yet either!  :-p   West of Scotland is the most expensive to enter at £32 and Yorkshire/Cumberland the cheapest at £29!

Supreme charges that (plus £8 for catalogue), and I can't remember which show the other one was recently but Shropshire charges £34.

Y'know what I have no desire to go to the Supreme.  I went as a visitor one year and I wasn't enthralled by it all and there's not the trade stand numbers I expected.

Nice thing about Supreme is getting the written critique on the day, and being able to watch the judging. :-) Plus you get totally different cats to compete against as it really tends to be the country divided in half, and the southern and northern exhibitors never meet at other shows -so it does make it interesting. Plus of course the classes are different. But I do find it a LOT more stressful for the cats -and for the exhibitors. 4 days to go and I haven't sorted my pens out yet, why oh why can't it be the normal sized white furnished ones.......

How many are you taking to the Supreme?

Having read so many differing crits about her from Hope's recent shows, I'm taking them with the same pinch of salt I take dog ones with!  ;-)   I would like to see the Selkirk Stand as Zoe, Anne etc. always make a real effort to decorate it & get SR merchandise but nothing else I desperately want to see.  I've done my 'north' meets part-south shows already!  ;-)
