Hi,

Our breed club is looking into the possibility of finding a new venue for next year's Championship show.  We currently use Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-Super-Mare, but this has proved expensive, and the hall is really a bit too large for our needs anyway.  Can anyone suggest any other places we could investigate?  Entries are usually no more than 60 dogs, ample room needed for cages, grooming tables etc.

As per title, anywhere from Swindon along the M4 corridor into South Wales and down as far as Weston way would be OK.

Thanks!

We have our breed open show in a community centre at Caerwent, this is about 5 miles from Chepstow. It is approx 4000 sq ft & fits 90 Whippets in comfortably.

I will have another think & come back

We are holding our Open Show next year at Leighton Recreation Centre Westbury Wilts. I don't know if that will be a bit too far off the M4 ( approx 1/2 hour from M4 J17). We will be mainly outside (weather permitting), but they do have a hall which will take 3 rings which we will use if wet along with 2 smaller halls. There is also plenty of outside space.

We went to a show at Livestock place near Portishead, seems they are wanting more business and reasonable rates, but can't remember what it was called.

The South West Hound Club used it on 13th April.

That would be the Bristol car Sales place which is off at J17 of M5 towards Rangeworthy. It depends when the Airedale show is as it has not got any heating.

Our shows are always the last weekend of November, so yes might be too chilly!

I think it's a balance of finding somewhere with adequate parking without a huge hall that is just too expensive to hire and has no atmosphere because it's too large.

I have had another possibility, although it may be a little to far down??
East Bridgwater Community School, Park Way Bridgwater. It held 130-180 Whippets at an Open show The parking is good and about 4 miles from J24 of M5
