Can anyone tell me what a welshie pup of 17 weeks might need for a protein intake in a complete food? The percentages vary so much across the brands. Is it really a case of cheaper food=less protein so you feed more to get the protein balance right, or...what?
OK, so the cream carpets were a bad idea

Didn't the puppies breeder give you a diet sheet, they know there lines best, so I would stay on what they have recommended at the moment.

no kenya, I didn't get a diet sheet although I am sure I could email the breeder and ask. When I collected the puppy three weeks ago he did say he had recently switched the puppies to Challenge complete meal which he was very happy with, but he had a look at the specification of the food I give to my dogs and thought this would also be fine. The trouble (for me) is that Challenge is a mail order purchase and I have two other dogs so would ideally want to be feeding them the same food eventually. As I had a very small amount given to me I decided to try to wean him over to the usual brand of food we have here over a week or so. Of course now I  wonder whether I was putting my convenience first. When in doubt, dream up a worry!

Hi Jay

Email Challenge and ask for samples of the adult food for your other dogs - we feed all of ours on it - puppies, adults and veterans and they do really well on it.
