i don't put many posts on here i'm usually lurking in the background reading posts anyway i have a 3 year old gsd and 11 month rotti my gsd was attacked as a puppy and is now dog aggressive so i walk them separately so the pup dosn't pick any bad habits up,the problem is the pup wants to greet every dog she meets just for play she pulls like a trooper when she see's another dog i was wondering can you over socialize your dog i walk her where i know there will be dogs and take her to training every week.thanks

It is great that the pup is sociable, self control over her pleasure will come with age and training.

You need to teach pup how to great calmly and nicely.  If she is clam she can say hello, as soon as she stops listening and gets silly the treat (meeting the other dog) is removed by your removing her.

Many thanks for your reply,i do clicker training with her which she responds well to and i have been taking her to places on lead where she can see other dogs and just sitting with her so that she can watch other dogs but have no interaction with them.Lets hope she will outgrow the sillyness as not all dogs are friendly.

I have a 12 month old rott and he is the same but I encourage people not to speak to him until he is sitting down.  With regards to pulling I walk him on a dogmatic headcollar so I have full control which helps, especially now it is muddy and slippy outside as I'm sure I would end up face down in the dirt given the strength of him.  Although my boy often whines to get near other dogs he is now starting to get more independent and will often ignore other dogs so yours may go the same way.
