Hello,  I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice.  I have a black labrador named Rebel who is 5 yrs old, just recently I have noticed that the shell part of his claws seem to be coming off and I've found a couple over the last couple of days lying around the house.  Does anyone know if this is a normal thing or could it be some kind of deficiency?

I have a saluki cross that has this problem. In his case it is because of an auto immune disease we were lucky to get it diagnosed quickly as the vet I see specialises in autoimmune diseases . I would suggest that you see your vet to get it checked out as if the quick is exposed it will be painful for your dog.
