Just thought I'd tell you all about my Weekend false lashes. had them put on, individually, for a Christmas party on Friday night and they are fantastic. They are still on. Never really having real lashes, these are wonderful. I can't stop batting them!! I just wish they were perminent!! Has anyone else had these ones on? They aren't on a strip, they are little individual bits.

I have had a set of false eyelashes knocking about in a draw for ages and have actually finally wore them last weekend (the string of them that you glue on yourself). I was so pleased when nobody spotted they were fake (was worried I may have looked like a drag queen at first ) that I am adicted to them now. I am quite annoyed as I took them off, left them loose on a shelf and 1 went missing, can't find it anywhere   I think the cat may have stolen it to play with

I find it really tricky to get the lashes on myself and end up having to take them off & re-apply them several times, getting them glued flat all over my eyelids in the proccess. I like the sound of the sort you have, were they expensive to have done?

I wouldn't know how to start to put them on myself!! I went to a salon to have the strip type put on, for my son's wedding in October and by the time I got home they had rode up to the middle of my eye. the bit you put shadow on!! Don't know what the silly salon girl had done but I had to take them off and go to the wedding without them on :o(
These individual ones are much more secure. They cost £15, which I don't think is too bad. They are still on :o)

I'm a complete convert to falsh lashes.  Unlike Mastifflover, however, I'm not at all averse to going OTT and risking looking like a drag queen   Mine are all from Illamasqua (fab make-up brand for anyone who likes a bit of drama).  To our work xmas dinner last week, I wore ones that are flecked with intense purple but I do have more 'standard' black ones.

Liking the sound of yours though, Anndee...might look into trying those

LOL!! I do wear very heavy eye-makeup anyway, so was a bit paranoid when I first wore my 'fakies' that I would seriously be mistaken for a man in drag, especialy as I'm quite tall when in high-heels

I'm so glad this thread has come up as I now feel more confidant about wearing my false eyelashes with pride

Ooo I love fake eyelashes! and tend to wear them at every opportunity! When I worked in a salon few years  ago I wore lots of single semi permanent lashes all the time, didnt have big long ones just some to thicken mine. Was great not having to put mascara on in the mornings! They damaged my lashes really bad though after a while and I had to have a 6 month break from them.My lashes grew back fine, but I lernt my lesson on that one!

i don't know the make but yes they were put on in a salon. they are in little 'clumps' of about 4/5 lashes and are stuck on seperately above your own. They get slightly longer as they get to the outer edge.
Just how difficult are the long strip ones to put on yourself? Can anyone tell me?

I used false eyelashes for about 10 years in my teens and 20s and like everything else, putting them on gets easier with practice.  I just put eyeliner on first with covers any tiny gap that you might leave.

I've got loads in my cosmetic stash and put a set on last month for the first time in years and it was just like riding a bike!

I have had them on several times, first as the "tester" for my sister when she was learning to apply them, then for special occasions.  They come in various lengths and colours, and good technicians can place them for maximum effect, you can go for the natural loopk, but accentuating your own with added length and fullness, for the Jessica Rabbit Look (very long on the outer edges) or for the total Bambi effect .  The ones my sister uses are Nouveau Lashes, you can get "Party Lashes" which are individaully applied lash by lash, and last for up to 7 days (sometimes a bit longer) or you can go for the full package, which means after applying the individual lashes they are coated wiht a bonding agent (not visible).  This makes them a permenant fixture, they are simply lost as your own lashes are shed, if you "top up" every 3 weeks or so you have them as long as you want.

The party lashes come in very bright colours such as electric blue, purple, emerald and red, as well as basic black, the effect is stunning!

Ooooh i think i could be very easily persuaded to go for the permanent fixed ones.
My Weekend ones are doing very well. They have been on over a week now. Week yesterday they were put on and I have only lost 3 bits off and you can't really tell they've gone, so I'm well pleased with them. I shall ask the lady that put these on about the full package of party lashes.
Hope everyone has had a good Christmas and is now relaxing and having nice dog walks in all this lovely frosty snow. we are!!
